  4. Ger off my thread. I did say one of his finest hours. But you don't get called the Guvnor (even if he chose the name himself the press ran with it) without bossing a fair few games so he would have had a few. Keane said some people forget how good Ince was, when putting him in in front of Scholes.
  5. Ince in that night in Turin when England qualified, blooded etc was one of his finest hours. I have to say I have been surprised by the very high level of accolades won by Scholes in recent years from xavi etc. Very good distributor mainly ?

  8. On again tonight at 11pm on ITV 4, channel 24. Well worth a watch.
  9. lot of general rubbish is being talked about England never having been very good etc. England were the world number 1 only a year or so ago and went on to a home ashes triumph. Suddenly Armageddon. huge overreaction. Suspect England were over confident going into this Ashes and also suspect Cook might not be the world's best captain if Boycott and radio 5 team is on the right track. The real truth is Australia don't like getting beat once, but the thought of two in a row was enough to tighten then up significantly. England batted oddly. After a few sleepless night with headphones plugged into live cricket commentary, I'm the oracle.

  11. 86-3. Was going well for England. Root just run out following Carberry lb. Just as typing, Bell has just gone too first ball, and the commentators can't believe he has played the shot. 86-4. Enjoying listening to Geoffrey Boycott on 5 live extra. What an interesting guy.
  12. Celtic stalwart Malkey was a star man as a player. Hope hammers can get him.

  14. I don't think you will get grief from your wife over that loss RD.
  15. Thought Liverpool looked damn good today despite losing. Pretty much a match for City in all areas of the pitch in what was a very competitive game and really the chances seemed equal, just a keeper error between the team's. Quite impressive I thought and could be in with a shout later in the season.

  17. Oh dear. That's not very festive. Good will to all men.....
  18. Quote from November 2012..... Had backed this horse for the 2012 King George and Nicholls didn't run him! "Good news and bad news. A month ago put biggish bet on Silviniaco Conti for the King George, saw it win on tv under Ruby Walsh and it could be the next Kauto they said.. It won again at Haydock yesterday. Immediately Paul Nichols stated it would be in the Gold Cup (2nd fav) but definitely would not run in the King George. Drat and double drat.
  19. Woo hoo. Get in there Silviniaco Conti. Great win and a strong finish makes him favourite for the Gold Cup now.
  20. Great thread Louisa. Keep it up.
  21. King George today. Always good for a bet. Doing Grumeti as an outsider in the hurdle and Sillviniaco Conti in the KG.
  22. There is a 1 in the year, again. :) He can't fail.
  23. I was there Tuesday night and they beat Maidstone. Good fun.
