  1. It might have taken a year for the US to rebuild their fleet but I think they would have ultimatley prevailed nonetheless. But really with a number of countries so ready to follow the Nazi lead and aim for a share of world domination - Its amazing that it all happended so recently.

Agreed - if this chap has handled them then I'll pass. http://media.ft.com/cms/fd3ccbc4-74f8-11df-aed7-00144feabdc0.jpg
  3. The Bleeding Heart was disappointing the one time I went.
  4. Suspect facebook picture of Anna, drinking large beers, wearing red shirt, signing shankly songs, may go live soon.
  5. I thought I agrred with you. Within each war there are a number of battles. Britain won the Battle of Britain but the war I suspect may have been lost without the US/Russia. Germany was a great force and was determined to put right the defeat of WWI.

It probably was Britains finest hour, certainly in recent history. I suspect without US intervention Britain at some point may have eventually been overcome, and likewise if a compromise had been met with the Nazis, this would eventually have meant disaster. In the end the tactical misjudgement that was Pearl Harbor, saved the world.

  8. He does not mention getting hammered by Celtic. Not once.
  9. It seems he was injured quite a bit, but remember Mourinho taking a fair bit of time to warm to him. But its another attacking midfielder for Liverpool, so they need to make sure they retain Mascherano.
  10. Its slowly being raised to heaven. Salvation is on the way.
  11. Having seen two programmes on Brian Clough, the Damned United and the subsequent documentary, it brought back great memories of football in the late 1970s and early 1980s. From taking Derby from bottom of the second division to the achievements with Forest and the debacle at Leeds in between, its a fantastic story. Lots of players who were average to good were structured into great teams, imo. With the addition of a few high profile signings, Trevor Francis, signed before the European Final. And Peter Shilton was a huge signing - Peter Taylor said "I thought we could win the league - but when we signed Peter Shilton, I knew we could win in Europe". Thats how important they considered the great goalkeeper to be to their ambitions. They were great times for Nottingham Forest - two european cups. He could have done it with any team, some managers have that ability. And he predicted it too - After being sacked by Leeds he was interviewed with Don Revie and when challenged, he said, I wanted to win the league better than you Don and I wanted to win the European Cup. He did and he did it in style.
  12. Thats AM for you. Think its a good signing. Hes keen and talented but for some reason at least 3 Chelsea managers and 3 england managers have not made him a regular.

  15. Declan - each way is a win bet and a place bet. So it is the same thing as doing the a win bet and a place bet seperatley. The only difference is that the separate bets may not have exactly matching odds - that might be the point you are making. But its not right to say that the higher the place the bigger the win, as its only if the player wins that you get the win bet money, other placings 2nd / 4th pay out the same money on the place bet element.
  16. If the alfa was outside then you are right, it was probably dustin's little one.
  17. Don't worry - I'm sure I will edit it in the morning, before the wife thinks I like her.
