  5. I got some lovely washable, cotton masks from someone based locally but found on Twitter @mugTM Great quality and only ?5 each
  6. In case anyone wants to track the overall rate of new cases and deaths, you'll find the data on worldometers.info
  7. My boys - now 9 and 5 - still absolutely love Nimble Arts holiday club- so much so my eldest barely says goodbye to me! (sniff sob)
  8. Highly recommended holiday club.. the care is superb, with many supervisors having teaching experience. There is a different theme every day, with the kids doing everything you can think of, from making balls and learning how to juggle and do magic tricks, to meeting weird n wonderful creatures! Along with arts and crafts, sports and games, and a bouncy castle the organisers really have thought of absolutely everything to make this enjoyable. My sons (5 and 9) love it so much they ask when they?re going back and my eldest rarely even says goodbye he?s so keen to go!
  9. Summer reading challenge for all ages, from toddlers to older kids. Free goodie bags and rocket making activities.
  10. Petition now at 4.1 million- amazing! Good for you anyone marching today!!

Ah maybe I was thinking of a different courier company
  12. I?m looking forward to trying this one- looks very family friendly which is quite rare generally speaking...
  13. Hi, We have a few friends who?ve used classic lofts and been pleased but as it?s such a big decision I?d love thoughts from those who?ve used them recently. Thanks in advance
  14. It?s reopened and looks amazing! Always been one of my favourites tho of course nothing beats China town
  15. Gymboree? Peckham Rye.. always good fun for little ones
  16. Not sure how well publicised this is so thought I?d share as it sounds great fun... Two shows 1pm and late afternoon https://www.magicmindreadingandmayhem.co.uk
  17. I?ve been reading about ecobricks- a new idea to reuse plastic as opposed to it going into the waste. This is essentially plastics like wrapping from fruit and veg, wrapping that keeps multipacks of bottles together etc. Does anyone know more in terms of how likely we might be to get a drop off point? I found this link on FB: https://www.ecobricks.org/
  18. ED picturehouse cinema party? I can also highly recommend Captured on the Rye parties :)
  19. Clair who runs Maths Mad is absolutely wonderful but I am unsure if she has availability. https://www.mathsmad.co.uk/1-to-1-maths-coaching I cannot recommend her more highly - she really brings fun and enthusiasm (lots of games and interaction to make the sessions fun) in order to get the best out of my 8 yr old son. Best of luck! p.s. mine tried and hated Kumon too but it was great in terms of getting into the discipline of a classroom situation and good behaviour / independence.
  20. I have a lovely friend who wants to train to become a teacher. Issue is she doesn't have a degree (now in her 40s and works as a TA). Does anyone have any advice they could offer in terms of a reasonably priced part-time degree course? Could be full-time if it worked out cheaper but my initial thinking is PT best as she can then continue working and that will help towards funding her further education. She has many years experience as a Teaching Assistant so hopefully that will count for something somewhere along the training route. I am also thinking a Crowdfunder could be in order! Thanks forumites :)
  21. Last week my youngest (4) started the club having "graduated" from his private nursery... He LOVES it - they do arts and crafts, magic, have a bouncy castle, loads of games, and one day (mini beasts theme) he even held a giant snail and cockroach (nice). My eldest has done magic, beat boxing, made a robot head, and held a bird of prey (yes really!!) so far this fortnight. WONDERFUL WITH A CAPITAL 'W' :) HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED plus your kids are looked after by staff who include teachers so they are in very safe hands...
  22. My son (now 8) has been going to the Nimble Arts holiday club since he was 4 years old and absolutely loves it! They have a different theme daily, from magic to circus skills... Sometimes they?ll learn about history in a fun way, say with Medieval knights and a special visitor dressing up and coming in to do a short talk and maybe some role play and games in the same vein. Sometimes they?ve even had weird and wonderful creatures the children can learn about and have a hold if they?re brave enough!! They do Arts and crafts, games and have a bouncy castle. It is basically like a real life Blue Peter set and many of those running it are teachers or have direct childcare experience, so it?s very well organised and you can trust the carers completely. Not sure when there are spaces left for summer at Goodrich but check their website for availability www.nimblearts.co.uk They accept bank transfers and childcare vouchers which is also handy. They have children from age 4 yrs upwards. Cannot recommend more highly :)
  23. Tricia - Portrayed Photography - lovely woman, very friendly and down to earth. Mother and true professional, great combo! https://www.portrayedphotography.co.uk/
  24. Hi there - cost varies with age and type of setting. So a nursery is comparable with a childminder (tho some minders charge more if they have less children to make it viable in terms of income). Nannies are far more expensive, though you might find that a less expensive option? ?150 per day for 2 children is expensive. Nurseries would normally be around ?60 per day per child (rough guide) but as I say depends on the age and some nurseries charge more for less days etc.
