  1. Our Healthier South East London NHS Southwark Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is working with our five neighbouring CCGs (Lambeth, Lewisham, Greenwich, Bexley, Bromley) to develop a health strategy for south east London. The Our Healthier South East London programme, is launching an Issues Paper setting out why things need to change in the local NHS, some of our emerging ideas and considerations, and questions for people to respond to. The Issues Paper can be viewed online: http://www.ourhealthiersel.nhs.uk/about-us/issues-paper.htm There are also hard copies available in GP practices for you to take away and give any feedback that you wish to. Please send any comments you have to the programme team at: [email protected]
  2. NHS Southwark Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) agreed plans for improving health services in and around Dulwich at our Governing Body meeting held on 12 September 2013. Based on what local people told us, we plan to develop a new centre to provide improved community health services. Our goal is to improve community services and make them more accessible, joined up and convenient for patients. We consulted on two different options - either having specialist community based care at a smaller centre and in several GP practices across the area, or the option which was most preferred during consultation ? a more centralised approach with a single larger centre. Based on what people told us, we plan to develop a larger health centre, and our preferred location is the Dulwich Hospital site. For an update on the project and our progress since September go to www.southwarkccg.nhs.uk/our-plans/improving-services-in-dulwich-and-the-surrounding-areas/developing-our-plans

  4. Hi, Do you have something to say about how local NHS services can meet the future health needs of people in Southwark? Please share them as part of our online discussion that is currently happening, link below. https://conversations.myhealth.london.nhs.uk/southwark/consult/call-to-action-helping-people-stay-healthy/consult_view We know that the population of our borough is growing. We also know that people are living longer than they have in the past. Meanwhile medical technology continues to advance as new or improved treatments and medicines are made available to patients. This means that there is more demand than ever on NHS services, and this demand is continuing to increase. At the same time we know that the funds available to spend on health services will not be able to keep pace with this rise in demand. You can find more information on our website http://www.southwarkccg.nhs.uk/GetInvolved/HelpPeopleStayHealthy/Pages/default.aspx Thanks,

  7. Thanks for your interest in the consultation on 'Improving Health Services in Dulwich and the Surrounding Areas'. As the organisation who has developed the proposals (NHS Southwark CCG) we really do welcome any interest and debate as part of the consultation and would like to emphasise that any feedback received via the consultation questionnaire or other routes promoted will be included in the evaluation. The consultation document also states that if anyone has alternative suggestions to those presented in the proposals that we welcome these. The questionnaire is provided to help people feed back in a structured way, however people are also welcome to send in letters, reports or other submissions that do not follow the questionnaire format. The two public events at St Barnabas Church can be booked online or on the telephone and are open to anyone who wants to attend. The reason for having a booking process is so that the numbers of people attending are known in advance and we can ensure that sufficient staff and facilitators are available to allow everyone to take part in a meaningful way. Please do come along. More information can be found at: www.southwarkccg.nhs.uk/GetInvolved/ImprovingServicesConsultation/Pages/default.aspx

  15. We wanted to update East Dulwich forum members on the current planning for health services in the South Southwark area, with reference to the current Dulwich Hospital site. As the forum shows, there is a great deal of speculation on the future of services, the current Dulwich Hospital and the land that surrounds it. As many forum members probably know, earlier this year we underwent a three month engagement exercise where we spoke to local people about their aspirations for health services in the South Southwark area, in East Dulwich and beyond which we posted on the Forum ? you can follow the previous thread at http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,820674,926011#msg-926011 As a result of this, we generated over 1000 separate comments and ideas and in addition, a number of groups and organisations have contacted us with specific proposals for the Dulwich Hospital site or the land around it. At present, all of the comments are being used to inform the development of a set of proposals for health services and buildings, which will be subject to a public consultation in the new year. We had previously been keen to consult earlier than this, but the board of NHS Southwark felt it would be wise to await the outcome of the consultation by the Trust Special Administrator on health services in South London (www.tsa.nhs.uk), so that the TSA?s recommendations to the Secretary of State could be taken into account in our local proposals. We have been collecting ideas from any organisation who approaches us about uses of the site or building as part of this process ? however at this point in time they are part of the ongoing exploration ? and no firm decision can be made until the consultation has taken place. Minutes of meetings from the Dulwich Project Board, feedback from our engagement exercise and other related documents can all be found at: www.southwarkpct.nhs.uk/about_us/developing_services_in_dulwich When we go out to our formal consultation we will post details on the Forum.
  16. Just a quick reminder that this meeting at St Barnabas Church will be going ahead tomorrow from 5.30 - 7.30pm - and anyone is very welcome to join us. If you want to be kept informed but aren't able to join us either get in touch to join our mailing list - or visit http://www.southwarkpct.nhs.uk/about_us/developing_services_in_dulwich where we will be posting any papers or reports. We have recently moved over to NHS net emails - so our new contact address is [email protected]. If you're planning to come along it would be really useful if you could let us know in terms of planning seating and refreshments - but equally anyone would be welcome to join us on the evening.
  17. Many thanks to everyone who got in touch, filled in our survey, sent us feedback or invited us to their group or event earlier this year. The engagement period closed last month and we've been busy analysing the many comments, view and experiences that local people shared with us. We're planning to present this feedback at a public meeting on Tuesday 24 July, 5.30 - 7.30pm at St Barnabus Church Hall, Calton Avenue, SE21 7DG and would like to welcome along anyone who would like to hear more about what you told us and what the next steps are. This will include a more formal consultation on proposals, including the future of the Dulwich Hospital site, later this year. It would be helpful if people could confirm attendance at this meeting - for the purposes of providing refreshments - but equally we would welcome anyone who comes along on the evening. More information from [email protected] or 020 7525 7888. Many thanks, Keri Lewis, NHS Southwark
  18. We're coming to the end of the engagement period so if you haven't had a chance to share your feedback about local health services please visit http://www.southwarkpct.nhs.uk/about_us/developing_services_in_dulwich to find out more and access the online survey. I will be based at Dulwich Hospital tomorrow and I'm very happy to drop off paper copies of the document to anyone in the area, or can help go through the questions face to face - so please do get in touch at [email protected] if you need any support to share your views. Over the coming weeks we will be looking at the feedback in order to help us develop some more formal proposals, which will include the future of the Dulwich Hospital site, and these will be subject to consultation later in the summer. Will post more details here, and the webpage linked to above will be regularly updated. Keri Lewis, NHS Southwark
  19. Just a quick reminder that we're in the library right now, and will be there until 7pm, so please pop along if you have any questions, comments etc. Or if you can't make it - leave us a question on this thread or by contacting [email protected] We will leave copies of the brochure at the library, or if you'd like us to send you a copy just get in touch - all contact details are above.
  20. Just to let everyone know that the engagement around Dulwich health services continues (please visit the weblink mentioned above), and we will be available in Dulwich Library on Thursday 22 March, from 3 - 7pm so come along to pick up a document and share some of your views and feedback. Please get in touch if you want any further information or if you would like us to send a paper copy to you in the post. Keri Lewis NHS Southwark [email protected] 020 7525 7888
  21. Health services in the Dulwich area I've posted information about NHS Southwark engaging with local residents to get views on health services in the Dulwich area on the general issues page - but wanted to flag up that one of the ideas in the engagement document is about integrating ante and post natal services - and so we're really keen to get the views of families who have had a baby in the past couple of years. If you could spend a few minutes reading though our ideas and doing the online survey that would be great. We're also keen to come out and speak to local families so if you're aware of any meetings or events that we could come along to hear local views that would also be really helpful. You can access the documents / survey at: http://www.southwarkpct.nhs.uk/about_us/developing_services_in_dulwich or get in touch with me at [email protected] or 020 7525 7888 and I can send paper copies. Many thanks, Keri Lewis NHS Southwark
  22. Thanks to everyone who came out on a chilly Wednesday afternoon - however if you couldn't make it there are still plenty of ways to give us your views. An engagement document and a link to our online survey are available at: http://www.southwarkpct.nhs.uk/about_us/developing_services_in_dulwich The engagement document outlines some ideas - particularly looking at general practice, urgent care, ante/post natal care, intermediate care services for older adults and supporting people with long term conditions. However please do use the survey to give your views on other health issues as these are all just ideas at this stage. We are also keen to get out and meet groups, so if there are meetings or events that we could attend to talk about the ideas, answer questions and hear your feedback, please get in touch (via the email below please - will also try and answer any queries via this thread). At the moment we are focussing on local health needs and the services we need to meet those needs, however later in the summer we will be engaging on premises, and this will include the future of the Dulwich Hospital site. Please do get in touch if you want any other information. Keri Lewis NHS Southwark 020 7525 7888 [email protected]
  23. Just a reminder that the drop-in event is TODAY at Dulwich Hospital, 3 - 7pm, so please do call in to find out more and share your views. More information about the ideas for health services in Dulwich are going up on www.southwarkpct.nhs.uk in the next hour (by 11am) - there is a link on our home page to the Dulwich page where you can access relevant documents and an online survey. Any queries, please get in touch at [email protected] Regards, Keri Lewis NHS Southwark
  24.
