Yes, I couldn't bear to get rid of it as it still comes into its own if anyone is ill and needs rocking during the night!! I love it!!!!!!!! It reminds me of those precious newborn weeks. As i say, i avoided back pain thsi time round, needed physio with son no 1, after too much bf sitting hunched on the sofa.

  3. How did they screen you? Is this one of the studies they're doing at kings atm?
  4. Tayo used to do lessons there and is very good. Not sure if he still does, PM me if you'd like his number. I would also recommend Justine and sally of Superkids swim school... not sure if they do private lessons. PM me for contact details.
  5. sort of a maternity rocking chair, for breastfeeding in
  6. Also, use all your choices. Only putting down one or two won't give you any more priority for those schools... and you may end up just being allocated the nearest school that has spaces.
  7. I bought one second hand very cheaply, and loved it. really saved my back during looong hours breastfeeding two babies!!
  8. Last time I went to pick up a parcel, there were two old packages from ages back I'd given up hope on and reported lost in the post (no card left)
  9. A baby heartbeat is supposed to show some variation, but not to deccelerate too much with a contraction http://www.enotes.com/nursing-encyclopedia/electronic-fetal-monitoring
  10. The fact these things do happen, all too frequently, is sad but true. Induction isn't always successful and can end up with ling drawn out labours, failure to progress and emergencyCS. What's so sad is that HH feared exactly that, and enquired about an elective CS, and while she wa sactually in Kings it seems her certainty that the pessary was placed wrong was not taken seriously and she didn't receive the compassion, acre and support she hoped for as a first time mother, in pain and panic. Now to find she has infected stitches must eb alomost too much to bear. HH, I wish you strength and healing. You can request to meet with the midwives and see your birthnotes and talk through exactly what happened, when you feel well enough. xx

It's effective till 6m if you are night feeding, periods ahven't return and you're not supplementing.. the point I was making is that night weaning of an older baby certainly signals the end of this period and is nature's way of spacing a family... http://www.babycentre.co.uk/baby/breastfeeding/contraceptionexpert/
  12. you're welcome to borrow my double electric pump for a while...
  13. Why do you think your supply is dropping? it's natural not to get engorged any more as they demand less and less frequently but they can still get what they want and your body will up production if the demand is they're, for eg if they're ill... i think if you don't want her to wean at this point.. and womanofdulwich, many women do want to continue long term, due to health and other benefits.. then expressing so she has ebm rather than formula would help... though dropping nightfeeds... wish mine would... does signal a drop in prolactin/supply/ and end of the contraceptive effects, too
  14. Get a mains operated pump, i'd say... second hand.
  15. PS we also have a spare monitor you can borrow if you want, though it's 6 years old
  16. if you need to sterilise anything, put it in a pan and boil it. i do think a breastpump is useful in an emergency if baby won't latch and you get engorged. though offer any expressed milk by syringe to avoid nipple confusion. pm me though, i'll give you my no, you can borrow mine if necessary. We never had a baby alamr for our twins till a few weeks wago when we wen ton holiday, as we live in a flat, just left the door open if they wer enapping
  17. Had a 3 3/4 drug free labour with son no 1, and 6h pretty easy with the twins (gas and air just for twin II)
  18. Christine Neillands, by P Rye pk, who uses the Marie Mongam method and also can make you a personalised mp3

  21. Going to all saints playgroup next weds, if anyone fancies it...
  22. Dolphin swim school in Mitcham is fantastic.
  23. Though toast and orange slices is not too messy. You can pick the menu depending on how much time you have to sluice them down after... though twin no 1 has gone out with a big lump of weetabix grafted to his head, this morning.. I noticed it too late, alas. You can ring the changes re types of bread... croissants, crumpets. You can use 100% bread if you want to avoid wheat.
  24. Fiona, that's very helpful. Whcih party are you from, if you don't mind me asking?
  25. Why not just give him fruit and toast to feed himself? Lack of teeth shouldn't be a problem, really. Just try some dry toast fingers, or bread sticks, with some slices of banana... Or cereal with oatmilk, it's quite nice (porridge or readybrek or weetabix though not sure about salt content of the latter) Mini shredded wheat soaked in oatmilk, maybe? Or stick with baby rice but add mashed banana, or a pot of fruit puree (though they're very sweet) Or cook, puree and freeze fruit like apple, apricots, and add cubes of that to his rice. Apricots are high in iron.
