  1. When ds1 was born I held him skin to skin and he bf. shortly after he dud his first poo and the midwife handed him to mr f saying 'the mum is responsible for what goes in and you're responsible for what comes out' 4 children on, inc twins, and that approach has always done us just fine, I would rank our parenting as 50:50
  2. Despite being capable of fixing an outboard motor, maintaining a dive compressor and dismantling my scuba kit, I I am quite happy to pretend I cannot change batteries Otoh my children think men can't drive, as mr f doesn't "But mummy, if there is a family with two daddies, do they have to always go on the bus?"
  3. Long socks right up to the elbow under clothes might work. Though I suppose if she is determined to take them off, she must be prepared to suffer the cold hands!
  4. Socks? Very long sleeves? None of mine would ever wear them
  5. Sounds like you are using all the available meds. Been awhile since ds1 suffered with it (the twins, iraculotsly, only had one spot each!) but i think the worst bit only spanned a few days Hope you are getting some sleep
  6. Ad: snap!!
  7. The christingle at st johns on Xmas eve?
  8. I actually agree that a retail unit there would cause a problem. The stretch if road is very busy with the roundabout at one end and the awful junction at the other. There is already the tesco, the garage, the little parade of shops, the park and the corner with the swimming pool. It is also a route to and from the school. Crossing the road with children can be quite perilous as it is
  9. St Anthony's have not admitted any non practising Catholics

  12. for large groups I never do formal starter, just hummous and crudit?s which ate great to keep children quiet before we sit down at the table

  15. In 2010 we did Christmas lunch of a sort with a 7 year old, 2 x 2 year olds and a 3 week old baby who had just had a tongue tie clipped but was still learning to bf and was on 100% expressed milk. And the breast pump died on Xmas day at 7pm. Thank goodness for the forum, with several offers .... I went to Brinkley at 11pm with my coat over my pyjamas and borrowed pickle's pump from saffron. I will always remember that Christmas day!

  21. The 3 wheels I have been looking out in the park and there are more children on the metal 2 wheelers But 6 is still quite young to be influenced by peer pressure and the shift to a larger 3 wheeler would certainly be less than the 2 wheeler Someone might pipe up with a 6 year old to say what suits them ...
  22. My 8 year old rejected the maxi as totally uncool
