There is a lip salve called cymex that I find is brilliant for areas of red, raw skin. It's a very mild emollient.

Search for a holiday time again!!
Fuschia replied to snowboarder's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I wouldn't be thinking of spending more than about ?2.5k for a fortnight's holiday (all in) which is why since our all inclusive trip to Egypt when the twins were 7m, we have holidayed at their godfather's Cottage near Dolgellau every year since! We do quite a few odd weekends away here and there too, though, and days out. We have the whole 6w summer holidays to fill, hence why a holiday abroad is off the cards at the moment (There are 6 of us) -
I think if you needed to change or get a refund on a faulty item, alternative proof of purchase would be acceptable. However if, in effect, you just changed your mind there isn't actually a right to a refund. However, it would be worth writing to head office, and posting on any Facebook /twitter account Superdrug may have Good luck, hope you get it sorted

The school is responsible for children until parents arrive, in case of closure, and staff living near the school are expected to be first in and last to leave on such days, so any pupils who can't be collected are looked after, don't worry.

Schools sometimes have to take a decision to close on a morning if bad weather means insufficient staff will make it in to Safely supervise pupils, or if the school site isn't safe due to snow/ice. Even if they do open, high levels of pupil absence often mean lessons don't run as normal. And where transport difficulties might mean travel home for staff is likely to be very difficult or dangerous, early closure is likely. Staff are also affected if their own children are sent home from school. And some parents wish to collect their children early. Anyway, we will see. I am on standbybtoget up to the horniman if the chance arises!

Kandoo wipes or similar are good. And showing them by actually guiding their hands through taking enough paper, holding it, leaning their arm round Also thorough hand washing practice and reassuring them that germs wash off. Reminding them that parents have changed 1000s if nappies and wiped lots of bottoms and still have clean hands Even if they don't like doing it and aren't very good at it, they will try it when they have no choice ... Making time after breakfast for a poo at home is worthwhile though

Yup. Forecast to start during the morning rush hour. I hazard a guess schools will close early.

Friday morning I thought was the forecast.

Thinking of cooking pad Thai at the weekend, anyone got a good recipe, or recipe for a child pleasing noodle dish? also any things to go with it (chicken?) pref that won't be competing for my wok When I cook new things I like to do several things so a stand off is less likely

Susyp, we always spend a few weeks in Wales each summer, and most years we get several days of baking sun on the beach -
recommendations for baby bouncer / rocker??
Fuschia replied to MM22's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Linkadoos rocker. Easily rocked with a foot and can be used as a seat by a toddler too -

Or A historically outstanding school has a dip and before even being reinspected and deemed to need external intervention, is frogmarched to academy status and a Harris Academy at that ...against the wishes of the school community The same Harris who is a major sponsor of the Tory party When Gove realises he has been caught breaking his own rules, ofsted are hastily scrambled to rubber stamp the school's status as 'failing' and ensure the deal is pushed through

Tips on using cutlery please!
Fuschia replied to Bellenden Belle's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Also expect them to get bored and use their hands a fair bit. Cover the floor, put the, in old clothes, and straight in the bath after, if they have pasta sauce etc. The more they get their hands into it and experiment with the textures and tastes, the more they will enjoy it. Try not to hover, just watch in case of choking. It's best if you show little interest in how much they consume, I have found. -

Def baby bjorn plates and spoons. And offering thick sticky porridge or yoghurt in a handled cup (cheap tommee tippee with the lid off) helps them too. -

Judith Kerr Primary School formal consultation

Bizarrely, in general LAs can no longer set up new schools but must invite proposals for free schools/academies http://www.education.gov.uk/aboutdfe/advice/f00209212/establishing-new-school The govts political desire for the maximum no of free schools leads to the odd situation where proposals are pretty much submitted on the back of a 'petition' rather than coherent planning - thee is no guarantee that any of the parents indicating an interest will be eligible to attend the school later, especially where the site could end up in one of several areas of the city. -
The child brain goes through huge changes as it matures and there are stages when the child makes huge leaps in their ability to handle emotion. Struggling with their own anger must be very scary for them. Obviously she has no idea even what it really means for someone to die. That throw Away comment will hAve meant something quite different to you than it did to the child who uttered it...of course she doesn't want you to die Fantastic book about the brain http://www.amazon.co.uk/Science-Parenting-Margot-Sunderland/dp/075663993X/ref=la_B001H6GF82_1_8?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1358118961&sr=1-8
