I have noticed in "Bellenden Village" area the black monitoring strips are again running across the roads.
Is Southwark planning more information gathering now we are approaching the quiet christmas period to implement new schemes no body wants.
Always appears to happen during many holiday periods.
Perhaps they might like to monitor how many older people have to wait standing for the P13 instead of putting in the large amount of cycle stands for the young and able bodied put in some seating
Also I noticed when I went yesterday the actual space for people is now very limited. two trolleys at the same time and it is impossible to move let allowing allowing for staff to restock the fridges which look a lot smaller.
Not a very nice shopping experience. Who makes these decisions? 5 year olds?
If you are going to Sainsburys today allow a lot of time.
Many shelves are empty, a lot of the stuff has been moved and the staff , if you can find them, have no idea where the new places are.
I gave up and came home.
Good luck
Once again Bellenden Road will be closed from 24-27th April.
This means that the P13 will not be running. Today the bus stop on the bridge up on Ivanhoe Road is again closed. open last few days now closed. Does anybody know what is going on. Certainly not our local Cllr.
When the road reopens who will be digging it up after this.
If you need to get shopping now is the time
It really is becoming a joke.
A shop keeper on Bellenden Road told me he has heard that these works could be going on to the middle of April or longer. Restocking of goods is now becoming a problem. Then when finished they will start again putting down double red lines along Bellenden Road. More chaos This has to be the most dug up road in London. Lets see what happens Friday. How will older folks manage?
How many more times are they going to close Bellenden Road? Once again residents have no transport to re@ch the shops. Many of us are not able to walk or bike. Again no advanced info from Southwark Councillors or TFL. If it was not reported on the forum no one would know.
Just spent time walking along the p13 bus route in an hour and half I only saw one bus heading towards New Cross. Whether there are other bus I suspect the Bellenden Road/Choumert Road bus stop will be closed as they are now digging up the road yet again. The whole thing is becoming a joke.
There were a few buses running but how many who knows. Why can local cllrs not put up correct information on the forum. The whole thing is a joke. Perhaps Khan the magnificent could offer his Range Rover to help people who need to shop? If you are elderly you have no chance.
Does any Know of a bakery in the area who bakes bread that Is still crusty the next day and not just fit for the bin. Would like to hear from anyone on this matter. Many thanksam
In my opinion Champion Hill was the first rip off regarding traffic. From the brief flurry during rush hour there is no traffic. Observation from a resident who lived in and around Champion Hill since 1958.
