  1. "This is just silly, and classic "pub bore knows more than entire highway engineering and urban planning professions" waffle." On current form it would appear the pub bore does know more than the Council Southwark experts

Why not just open Rye Lane back to how it was but for buses only. Even with your idea there are many people who find it very difficult and need access to Rye Lane
  3. I suspect that this petition will go like many others straight into the bin. Have contacted local Cllr Jasmine Ali for Rye Lane on this on a number of occasions never received fed back or information. That is why I suspect the bin will be the end result. Strange when social distancing was supposed to be enforced and no buses, Rye Lane was like party central. Cllrs have a party line to follow.

Southwark Labour MPs in the area should be > holding their heads in shame for the inconvenience > and lack of action to get the area back on its > feet." Not only MP's but local Cllrs, particularly the deputy Council Leader who lives there. They are doing this so they cannot see what a mess the whole thing is about. Thought closure was due to the pandemic did not notice much social distancing then or now so it should be reopened.
  5. Perhaps if you were in the position of having to walk miles to get a bus you might change your mind. There are no convenient bus stops around. But as you live in East Dulwich that does not concern you.

I have asked the Local Cllr Jasmine Ali and Deputy Leader what is happening and have never received an answer. If this consultation exist you would have thought she would have provided information. But then perhaps from her window in Tooley Street she cannot see what is happening but she does live off Rye Lane so you would have thought she would have more interest. Still Southwarks has an already decided plan.
  7. To enforce you statement try traveling from streets behind East Dulwich. With Rye Lane closed and no buses you spend 15 minutes plus trying to find a bus stop. Having great problems with walking it is madness to force people to walk. Try doing this with shopping. For me Rye Lane and Nunhead lane are a distant memory because there are no buses. Contacted local Cllr Jasmine Ali on a number of times no response apart from I will look into it. That,s it, Silence.
  8. The park road should remain closed. People these days are far too selfish to think of others, even now bikes and the other means of transport that fly around the park think they are the only people who should use the road. Years ago there was no problem now all me me me.

Thought you had to buy the new bags and pay for collection. Dont think the Council will collect the old ones. Could be wrong
  10. Thanking you for this information. Why can all blue badge holders not be included in this. They still have to pass through the same streets. Again dispensation for the residents of Dulwich.
  11. "Its lovely whilst its segregated." Until the refuse lorries arrive on Wednesday and traffic is backed up along Bellenden as no road is available for other users. It was wider and traffic flowed before this very expensive alteration. It is no different to before but half the road is now closed with the alteration. Unfortunately common sense is missing when this was done. Dogma took over. If cyclists could not use the old road system they should not be on the road.

  13. I have been trying to mail my interest but cannot find the email address to do so. Does anyone have the email address please.
  14. which way were you going north or south?
  15. "Today the whole area has been affected by circumstances outside the camera zone. We cant help accidents or roadworks but we could help displacing all this traffic on to what amounts to residential roads. It is totally disgraceful." If you are referring to the repair works on Goose Green roundabout why could this not have been done over the weekend, part 1 and part 2 next weekend instead of the working week. Queues were a nightmare this morning. Madness or part of a cunning plan?
  16. just go on line www.southwark.gov.uk/counciltax You can also print out a receipt very easy
  17. Thats probably why they have traffic monitoring lines in the road to show that there is not that amount of traffic flowing. Method in madness.
  18. Wardy did you ever get to go to the pawnshop on Monday for money for the week and back on a Friday to get the best bib & Tucker out for the weekend. Can remember going with my grandparents. Wonderful memories that make you appreciate what you have now. Enjoyed the read.
  19. Because of Khan car values in London and on the resale market because of the ulez are scrap only. I have the same problem. No one wants them.
  20. Burst pipe today outside Plough Pub, Lordship Lane
  21. spider69 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > If you can prove it was the Council get them to > repair it Many people have "ring door bells" which would show you who was responsible. It might strengthen your claim to get a proper tradesman/person in to fix. Or it might show if someone else was responsible for the damage.
  22. Did the police turn up to see if they were obeying social distancing or sitting down?
  23. Frightened they will die from pollution coming from cars so they close the roads down but safe from covid so need to do nothing.
  24. It is Bellenden Village, land of plenty
