  1. I'm trying to remember when it was games started getting postponed because of the conditions on the way to the match or around the ground, or am I remembering wrong when I think that never used to happen? No one's forcing anyone to go to the game, and if they fall over outside surely then they're responsible for their own actions?
  2. Just tell him. I did a similar thing once and the reaction was essentially eternal gratitude as he didn't realise. Either that or put a bag over your head as well, in case the one on his falls off. cf 'Double Bagger' (Profanisaurus definition)
  3. Stop moaning everyone. This is the one you don't want to hear... 28) Ah well, back to work tomorrow.
  4. ANPR = Automatic Number Plate Recognition ie cameras reading number plates.
  5. I'm guessing as a scenario the OP might be meeting someone at the EDT - it's the East Dulwich Tavern, location as described.
  6. It is indeed cold outside, with all that entails.
  7. I'd appreciate help on this - A film I stumbled upon late night years ago, possibly Italian, featuring a fellah in a phone box who gets trapped in there. After a while a truck comes along and loads the box on the back, with him still in it, and drives for miles into the mountains. Eventually he's dumped in a cave, in the mountains, still in the phone box. He looks around to see lots of other phone boxes each containing a trapped person... Anyone?
  8. or 'Guido' as in the referee on Jeux Sans Frontieres?
  9. My last place used to have a place in Battersea Park called Evolution, took over the whole place and had a big old party for 1500-2000 people. Always had a classic old house DJ (last year John Kelly for instance) after the whole catered dinner thing, all with a free bar. Awards, Rolexes, Porsches being driven in etc. My close friend had to organise it all, the most stressful day of her year just about. It was always a great party from some perspectives but I never enjoyed it. Where I am now we're 20 people and hosted a client network drinks thing in lieu of a party - also not great. Christmas parties are like New Year - being told to have a good time pretty much negates the possibility of it actually happening...
  10. No Barron Knights?
  11. Are you trying to track down Kendo Nagasaki via Mick McManus?

  13. I thought the new Black Eyed Peas song was a parody when I first heard it.
  14. Crisis club City qualify top of their group in the Europa Vase playing the reserves against Juventus. Solid in the top 4 and looking good. Just an observation.
  15. Victor Lewis-Smith - ?the Beatles are dying in the wrong order?
  16. Chime by Orbital, assuming it's 40 somethings who are like me. Smells Like Teen Spirit? Groove Is In The Heart?

As the cliche goes your best camera is the one you've got with you. I'm a big htc fan but their cameras are poor, it'll be a factor for me next time round.

  23. Squeezebox is/are great, we've got one in every room.. This lot basically; http://www.logitech.com/assets/15715/15715.pnghttp://www.logitech.com/assets/33116/4/squeezebox-radio-white.pnghttp://www.logitech.com/assets/15351/15351.pnghttp://www.logitech.com/assets/15273/15273.png Plus for everyday use a Classic - http://www.themp3company.co.uk/load_image_gallery.php?product_id=249&image_id=6 Squeezeboxes are great, especially if you like fiddling around a bit but they are essentially plug and play these days. You do need a music server running for your own tunes or can do internet radio and music services direct via mysqueezebox.com as it's now called. We have all our tunes (thousands) plus Spotify, last.fm, Napster and probably most popular iplayer running pretty much faultlessly off a Vortexbox dedicated music server. Forgot to say, this is a lot cheaper than a Sonos system. Old comparative review here with the Squeezebox Duet being essentially not supported too much any more but a useful read. Feel free to PM with any questions MM.
