Hi, my 2nd refused at first, but what worked was - getting my husband to give the bottle and making sure I was nowhere nearby. Also getting a second set of muslins for bottle feeding. When my husband tried feeding her with the normal muslin over his shoulder (ready to catch any drips/voms), she would turn her head towards the muslin. Even if it was clean! I think she could still somehow smell breastmilk or me on the muslin. We got a set of yellow muslins which were "bottle" only!

Hi, we have used convex's method and it has seemed to work well. We asked our son to lie down on the floor, relaxed with his eyes closed, then put a few drops on the corner of his eyes and bridge of his nose until the drops "collect" and then just blink a few times and the drops should run into the eyes. You do waste some drops, but some do go into the eyes and less traumatic for everyone.

Is this some kind of passive agressive thing? You won't ask them for the money outright but you are hoping that they will see it on the forum and somehow be "shamed" into offering you the money? If you really wAnt to get your money back, then you should just ask them directly. Otherwise probably best to just let it go.

Hi, do you bring him into the loo with you when you do a poo? Just to show him that it is all natural and fine. I used to tell my boy when I was going to the loo, bring him in or leave the door ajar so he could watch. It did feel really weird at first. This went on everyday for weeks if not months by the way. The things we do for our children 😄

Tomskip "turd schools" made me spit out my tea, brilliant... Private school, is just another one of those things that I would buy/pay for if I had the money...like 5 bedroom houses, a big garden, Caribbean holidays, first class travel, private masseuse, Louboutin shoes etc...but of course my children's education would come first (ahem).

Hi one of my colleagues who used to live in ED sends her son to City of London school for boys. He travels on the train on his own, although sometimes they do the morning "commute" together. It is actually quite easy to get to, especially if you are closer to Denmark hill or peckham rye station. It is the thameslink train.

Yes we still use Aveeno (the cream) every day and when we started using it,we could see my son's eczema improve. Definitely try it. You can get it on prescription but also readily available at Boots. Go for the cream, not the lotion. Having said that, it is a case of constant management I.e. cream twice daily all over, using soap very sparingly, keep an eye out for the start of any flare-ups. Good luck with it, it is an ongoing battle.

Happypuppy, sorry it is not clear if you are a woman or not, or if you have children. But I hope you will consider being vaccinated against rubella before you start trying to have children. Just as a precaution. I don't mean to be patronising, of course the risks are up to you to consider.

Please vaccinate your children. I was vaccinated against rubella as a child, but when I was pregnant, my blood tests showed that I was not immune. Apparently there is a tiny percentage of people who where the vaccine is not effective. My midwife tried to reassure me that as it was after 12 weeks, the main organs would have developed so the risk was low. Also since the MMR has been introduced, rubella is rare. It was a worrying time and nothing I could do about it at the time. Sorry if you knew this already, rubella is a mild disease but the danger is to pregnant women and the foetus as it causes birth defects including heart abnormalities and deafness. After my son was born I had the MMR and now I am immune (I checked before trying for my second child) So please vaccinate, if not only for your children but also for the pregnant women (who may not even know that they are pregnant yet) and their children.

Hi, I think the main difference is that a private nursery is to provide full time childcare for parents who work, so their hours are longer typically 7:30 to 6:30pm, they run all year round, and they take children form 6 months (or younger) A nursery attached to a school is more of an early preparation for school, and socialising with other children. Hours are short, they only run during the school year and they are not really meant to be "childcare" eg I think they don't take children in nappies (without a doctor's note). Hope that helps.

I wouldn't worry about it. minikatsu was in nappies till after 3, he didnt show any interest. I had a new baby and couldn't face the stress of it all so waited till he was 3 + 4/5 months (if I remember correctly). The good thing is that once he "got it" there were only a few weeks till he was fully trained. Albeit with the odd accident. I was worried that he would not be dry for school nursery (it was a requirement) but it was fine. However I am very glad he was first, as his younger sister basically self trained herself (took herself off the loo etc) and was fully trained at 2.5!! Not showing off but just observing that children are different.

Hello we are having a toy revolution today. Lots of toys (mainly boys but suitable for both) eg v tech walker, push along hippo, lots of cars etc. We were going to donate them to charity by my little boy is really into the idea of a shop, and "selling" them so they will be going for 10p, 20p that sort of price. The big items eg walker may be 3 or 4 pounds. The main thing is for them to go to other happy children! Just this afternoon ( bank holiday Monday). Hi DB&B, I got the Skinkind M&S trousers for my son last year and I agree, the quality is not great. The knees just seem to get worn out after a few weeks and the hems drop almost immediately. It is extremely frustrating as most children's trousers are 100% cotton except sodding school uniform, which all seems to be 100% polyester. Let me know if you find somewhere that does a better product!

What's everybody doing today? It's sunny and warm hooray! It seems too nice to just hang around the parks and north cross road, that's what we do every weekend - rain, snow, hail etc...are there any fairs etc on today? I think I saw St. John's fair is on today? Is it at the school or on goose green?

I can't believe people are making personal attacks on the mother involved. Her child was found wandering on the road outside. This is the one biggest priority for any parent, is my child SAFE? All other "activities" and however "lovely/caring" the staff may be , how they are getting on with their little friends etc, these are all important but when you drop off your child, you must be confident that they are safe. I don't have a child at oak tree but a child the same age at another nursery, and this has made me think about their security and if it can be improved. We just received an email reminding us of security during drop off /pick ups so I feel a bit reassured that they are scrutinising their own procedures.

Also, goose green school is fab! Another plus is that it is right next to the station which means that drop-offs on the way to work are easier. There is a new primary school opening in Sept 2015 I think, but that is in bellenden road, if that is the one you mean.
