Football is football, and if my team are playing in a friendly I will watch it. The summer is so long and dull. Was going to try and get to the Villa Real game, but unfortunately knee surgery has put that one on hold. :-(

I think he has a lot to offer, but just hasn't shown his full potential yet. Two goals in his last 3 games you know. The first of the 3 I witnessed at WHL and saw a Spurs fan lob his ST on to the pitch in disgust. >:D<

Keef Wrote: > Oi, you didn't even know they were on telly last > night! ;-) I blinkin' well did! Just not when I booked the Zutons tickets 3 months ago. I also wasn't aware that they'd be supporting Macca. Must find my crystal ball. ;-) And besides, I was sneakily monitoring the game from my Blackberry. Voronin our pony-tailed warrior scored you know!!

Saw the Zutons at Somerset House last night. Fantastic venue :)-D although I think they were better when I saw them at Anfield. ;-)

My Grandma used to go to Church at Sandringham. When my folks visited as child we'd go with her on a Sunday and it was quite peculiar being sat there amongst the Royals - I used to try and catch Prince William's eye. (Just kidding ;-)). Met and spoke with the Queen Mum and my Grandma and step-Grandfather had regular contact. All quite bizarre. (Keep thinking of the Royal correspondant in Little Britain now >:D<)

Agger's back!! Woohoo. Played against Tranmere yesterday. So good to have him back, our form changed totally after he was injured last season.

Rafa teaches new boys the Hokey Cokey >:D< Welcome Degen and Dossena. Next signing Silva? (Oh please, oh please, oh please) (tu)

No, but thank you for helping me realise that ordering a Sony laptop was a good idea. ;-)

Definitely stuff going on behind the scenes there, but I'm not sure a Torres/Villa partnership would work. Euro 2008 was proof that these two (under the Spanish formation anyway) do not work together. We need someone who Rafa can play when Torres can't. I think G&T relationship worked perfectly well last season and I would question the need to change that by spending ?30+ million on another striker. Give me David Silva please. (tu)

Yep, but I stuck in an additional n, a and s though. ;-)

I have - hope you don't mind.

Welcome back Mr Lush, you have been missed (particularly in the Football Focus thread). (tu) Glad you're feeling better.

Daft question regarding oyster cards
Annasfield replied to Otto's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Pre-pay Oysters can't be used on trains, however if a travelcard is on the oyster card this is different. I have an annual zone 1&2 travel card on my oyster and this can be used on the trains as I don't need to touch in and out. -

Nope - you bumped it. Live with it. >:D

Oh bugger - I'd forgotten about this.... :-$ Now I've met you can I change my mind? ;-)

There used to be a fella in Norwich who was know as Marigold. He was often seen stood in the middle of a certain roundabout directing the traffic, wearing yep you guessed it, yellow washing up gloves! Blinkin' hilarious! :)) I reckon I've probably chatted to him on a bus at some point too. ;-)

Blinkin' Bosmans. Liverpool offered Crouch a contract last February & he refused to sign. Will be very disappointed if he goes on a freebie.

9 mill?!! You're having a laugh! We've already told Pompey we want more than 10.

Woman stabbed in Peckham last night (Lounged)
Annasfield replied to jumpinjourno's topic in The Lounge
The knife crime in our City is shocking and it appears to be getting worse. Whether this is because the press are now all over every single incident due to the sensationalism involved or because more and more kids are carrying knives is a side issue. It is happening and is quite intimidating. I have lived all over the country and perhaps one of the most horrific things that I have experienced was to learn that a friend of mine was stabbed to death in his own flat hallway. I wasn't living in London, I was living in a small seaside town on the North Norfolk coast, called Sheringham. Quite scary really and something that I will never forget. John was murdered by his girlfriend's son who was schizophrenic. Unfortunately, a simple case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. My point here though is that bad things can happen to anyone at any place or any time in their life. You can avoid putting yourself in risky situations though. Lets face it, there are certain areas around here that none of us would be comfortable walking around late at night and sometimes even in broad daylight. I was driving home to ED on the bank holiday weekend in May and was heading down the Walworth Road. Just before Burgess Park a large section of the pavement had been cordoned off and several police were present. As I got further down the road, I noticed clothes and somebody?s trainers strewn about and a rather large pool of blood, which to be quite frank if someone had been left without that much in their system for a short while I don?t imagine they?d be alive to tell the tale. What had happened? Who knows? It never made the press. It really freaked me out and put me off getting the bus home via that route for a good while. My immediate reaction was ?I don?t want to live here anymore?. I don?t fear for my well being as I believe that the majority of knife/gun crime is gang related, however I do not want to witness someone having their throat slit outside MacDonalds or shot during a hold up in a shop. I?d like to think I?m relatively streetwise and wouldn?t dream of asking a group of teenagers on bus to turn their music down or mention something about their behaviour. I guess what I?m trying to say is that I wouldn?t put myself at unnecessary risk. I do worry about when my family and friends visit, because if I?m quite honest, if you asked a kid in Sheringham to turn his/her music down, the likelihood is he/she will tell you to eff off. I?d be extremely surprised if they pulled out a knife. I can totally understand peoples? reaction in wanting to move away from a suburban area where this sort of occurrence is prolific. Particularly if they have young children that you can?t be with 100% of the time and offer your protection to. They may or may not be safer elsewhere, but peace of mind can be a great comfort. -
