  4. It's not just about being chatted up. Like Asset, I seem to have some sort of homing beacon for nutters - be they male or female. It happened at lunchtime - I was queuing in the Post Office and this old man just came and stood next to me. I was stood at the counter getting my car tax disc, and he just stood right beside me sucking his teeth. I didn't even make eye contact this time. Might have to start staying in. ::o

I love Fernando Nice one - was great watching the game in the pub. With the reaction of the crowd in there, anyone would have thought that it was England playing. (tu)

Anyone's for sale for the right price. The difference in this instance is that Ronaldo wants to leave. He also doesn't want to play for Chelsea or Arsenal or Liverpool. Fergie would never allow him to go to a rival premiership club. Don't you remember the debacle when we tried to sign Heinze last year? If Torres were to leave Liverpool I don't think he'd go to another premiership club. He has also stressed on numerous occasions how he wouldn't want to leave, something which Ronaldo (who thinks he looks great playing in white) has never done. Hmmm - perhaps he should play for Leeds or switch to cricket.

It did improve as they then went on to score again. He did have a couple of good runs though, was disappointed not to see him get a goal. He's hasn't had the best tournament, that is certainly a fact.

I don't think Spain will miss Villa too much. Didn't catch much of the first half, but from what I can gather things improved immensely once Torres and Fabregas were paired up front. Come on you reds ;-)

Why didn't I think of that? ;-) I just bought a nice new 37" telly for Euro spectating too. :)-D
  12. When I started this though, it wasn't just aimed at men who are pests.
  13. It's funny you mention that Keef, because I was discussing this with some mates the other day. What is it with these "humping" fellas. You politely turn around and give them a clear off look and they do. 5 minutes later they're back again. Have they no shame? I went up to a bloke and he gave me the brush off, I be embarassed and avoid him. Why on earth would earth would you go back for more?

  16. It happens everywhere though, buses, pubs, work, at the gym, running in the park in the morning. I think the trick is - don't make eye contact and NEVER smile at strangers. (How boring)

Would like to see the Turks do it but due to injuries, suspensions etc their squad is looking a bit weak. Can watch it tonight, but will certainly be tuned in for the Spain game tomorrow. (tu) Edited for spelling - week?? :-S Deary me.

  19. If a village is missing it's idiot, they always seem to find a way hunting me down. Examples of this randomness are as follows: I'm in Leadenhall market for a mate's leaving do on a Saturday evening. He has hired a live band, so what would normally be a quiet place in the city is buzzing with noise and begins to attract a lot of attention. People who are walking down Bishopsgate start to head to the bar, but are politely turned away as it's a private party. However, due to Leadenhall being a public area, there was no way of preventing the loiterers. Honestly, I think that every waif and stray in the Square Mile turned up to see what was going on. At this point I was spotted and it felt like every homeless person in the City ended up asking me to dance. Why me?!?! :-$ All my wonderful friends (and I use the term somewhat loosely) found it hilarious. My second example is making random bus friends. I have often, on a drunken journey home on the 176 after midnight, found myself sat next to some rather unsavory characters. In my drunken stupor, I have sometimes offered a polite smile and then the whole situation begins. At this stage, my new bus buddy will decided to strike up a conversation. I have honestly been asked if I either a) have a boyfriend or b) for my phone number, on about 6 separate occasions on a night bus. Does this happen to anyone else? I always end up chatting to random weirdoes? :'( Please share your experiences here.
  20. A friend of ours nearly fell in said hole on Sunday afternoon. He was having a particularly clumsy day though, especially having been warned about and hour prior to this to watch out for a tree root, which he then proceeded to trip over. >:D< (Not funny to read, but it was hilarious at the time) Agree though, it's dodgy and should be fixed.

Nope, I got in a cab the other week and the driver was smoking. He told me that if I reported him, it would be my word against his and nothing would happen. I told him he could do what he liked as I just wanted to get home. He then proceeded to tell me about his double life and how his wife didn't want any more kids. He told her that if she wouldn't have them, he'd find someone else who would. Apparently he did and now has a wife and a kid up North and a girlfriend and a kid down here. They all know about each other. :-S Like I care!! People are strange.....
  23. I heard it yesterday (walking up Crystal Palace road, from Goodrich). Thought I'd imagined it though as I was still trashed from the night before.
