  1. RosieH's story about Ken Hom in another thread made me chuckle and also made me think about other similar stories I'd heard. My Mum is from Liverpool and in the Seventies she used to go to lots of parties and quite often there'd be LFC football players there. On one occassion she was sat in the lounge with some mates and this fella came running in to the room looking most pleased with himself. He then proclaimed at the top of his voice "Gerrin'!!! Me berds upstairs in bed with Ray Clemence!!!" Dead chuffed he was. Strange people these Scouse folk. ;-)

  3. Is it too late to join in? I'm thirsty.
  4. They are all Berks.
  5. Good idea Brendan :)-D
  6. Lions and Tigers and Bears? :-S
  7. I didn't realise that so many people in Dulwich bought fabric. What a git though, next time I walk the dogs I will hope and pray that the same thing happens. Would love to give him what for. >:D<
  8. P.S - My Dad tells me you can drink on amoxycillin (sp), but it must reduce the effect of it somehow. ;-)
  9. Isn't there one particularly strong type of antibiotic that contains something they put in pills that alcoholics take? Apparently this ingredient reacts with booze and makes you quite violently sick. A nurse friend of mine told me about it as I'd been prescribed them for an infected root in my tooth. I was due to go skiing and as the pain had subsided I decided to stop taking them the day before I went. I usually have quite a good tolerance for alcohol and ended up completely smashed on the first night. I had to drink though - some of my ski friends would have assumed I was pregnant if not. :-S
  10. Does anybody know where you can acquire such a spray?

Is that similar to speeding fine protector? ;-)
  12. I did a 10k run a couple of years ago and decided request sponsorship. It was the Nike Run London event and they nominated a charity that could benefit from this event. I selected my own charity, The Stroke Association, having lost my Nan to a stroke the previous year. My close friends and people who know me well, knew the reasons for my choice of charity and decided to sponsor me. I think sometimes people chose sponsorship for the sake of it and if I'm honest that puts me off sponsoring them as these requests come round all the time.
  13. Did you have to pay to do this challenge, or did the "sponsorship" go towards the cost? :)
  14. Carrie from SATC. I love her shoes - don't think I'd share her neurosis over men though.
  15. Absolutely no way I can make the 3rd, but the 10th is a possibility.
  16. It's called Welfare Reform and the intention is not to take away incapacity benefit from those that need it. It's designed to make it far more difficult for those who can do some form of work to stop sitting on their backsides and claiming from the State. I think that those who are already in receipt of SPSIB will maintain the status quo, however in the next few years, assessments will be made to ascertain if they really need the full benefit and whether or not a return to work programme would be more suitable. From October, any new claims will be assessed in the new manner with full benefit being paid to those who really need it. The onus is also being placed on employers to keep people in the workplace, instead of off loading them when they are incapacitated. Have been talking to my clients about it for the past 12 months.
  17. Yep - like Ratty says, perhaps you should try a Guildford or Surrey forum. :)) ;-)

Of course you are right Anna, forgive me > for even arguing. I'm glad you get my point and I accept your apology. ;-) Marmora Man - last time I went to a test match I had to leave slightly early as our first game of the season was on telly. :)) They overlap ever so slightly.
  19. It is the same - how can you say it's not? The simple fact of the matter is that when clubs like Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool, Real Madrid show an interest in a smaller (and by smaller I mean less successful/less money to spend) club's player then they will be accused of tapping up. Harry was quoted as saying he'd love to sign SWP, however no big deal has been made as it's unlikely that Pompey could afford him and that he'd leave Chelsea. Fergie is a hypocrite moaning about it being done to him one minute and then doing something similar the next.
  20. Whether an offer has been made or not, it is quite hypocritical moaning about a club who is seen as unsettling a player and then doing something very similar not so long after. Those in glass houses... Fergie seems to think it's one rule for him and another for everyone else.
  21. Here you go Sandperson

Being asked in a press conference if you're interested in a player and saying yes, is a slight bit different to conducting an interview with a player as the topic of discussion. Like I've said, I've not read the interview I'm basing my opinion on what I've heard.

  24. Fergie did a little more than admitting interest though. I didn't read his interview as it was in said paper which I will never read let alone mention, however from what I can gather he said they'd get him. Very hypocritical me thinks. The whole rule is rather peculiar.
  25. Apparently Ronnie is staying...
