Good luck to you - look's like a nice place, but what's with the Standard's 'fill the yoga void in the area'? Where on earth did that rubbish come from??

Being presently mulling this over myself I've come to the conclusion that EVERY different maker of good Digitals - Roland/Yamaha/Kawai etc. will tell you why their's is the best and what makes it most like an acoustic upright - graded decay of notes/ wooden components etc. Most sample form their own pianos only. Nord 2 samples across a range of grand/classy uprights. No digital will be exactly like playing an acoustic, but then again all acoustics are different too. Think you'd have to go and try a few out and see if any of them did it for you personally. Good luck! H

Forest Hill Road (opinion on shop fronts and signs)
hpsaucey replied to Anstergirl's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I'll second this. LOVE this stretch of road. Great shops and nice staff - try to support them as often as I can... Use it or lose it! And yes, I navigate them on the 2-3 days a week I travel into work. Don't begrudge them playing. What should they do instead round there? Perhaps they should play nicely on the surrounding streets nearer the road - that would be sensible. Tumbleweed hairballs on the other hand - definitely littering.

Always wanted to be one. Have a battlefield archaeologist friend so see how hard it is, but know he has a lot of fun along the way. I'll probably try and go and volunteer one day if its possible. Got a PhD in Social history and managed to turn it into a career as a curator so not moaning - interesting job but the career rather than money path. Just trained to be an NCT Postnatal Facilitator to do something else worthwhile and totally different on top of museum work. Have to say it really affected my work:home balance for a few years ... Recently signed up for a fun online writing course and an interior design course. Must be mad. I figure I'll be one of those ladies permanently at night classes :) -

He's got an MP3 so might tell him to try and get back to sleep using it... I'll take a look at HACAN too. Cheers H

Ooh - for me storyteller, archaeologist, travel writer and possibly hat maker (even though I look terrible in hats personally!) -
Seconding this v sensible and concise advice. Managing to happily bring up two kids in a two-bedroom flat. Ideally of course we'd like more space, BUT its certainly not worth dicing with overstretching! Sure the anxiety would override the benefits. Well, I've been following this with interest and the odd comment. This is slightly off topic but I'm looking for advice. My 8-year old has been waking early for ages, and I just assumed he was an early riser. Don't know why. He said yesterday that its actually usually the planes waking him up early. Don't know why I didn't ask him before. Children usually just accept whatever's happening as the 'norm' so he didn't think to say. Any tips to help him gratefully received. He's looking permanently shattered at the minute. HP

The only thing that > wakes me during the night is my bladder. my bladder doesn't wake me but planes increasingly do. And no i'm not a light sleeper and not anal about it. Can't we just accept that it bothers some and not others. This Doesn't make those bothered 'hyper sensitive'. I don't fail to understand how people aren't bothered by it and certainly understand how they can be. Maybe people are at different stages in their sleep cycle for example.
