  2. Nice but pricey .... as has been said.
  3. I'm fairly skint this year and am looking for ideas for a party for a (to be) 8-year old boy. If anyone has any ideas I would be really grateful! I'd also thought about Planet Ice in Brixton. Has anyone had a party there? What was it like? Cheers. Helen

I use both a lot as a road user and no > problems and all cool. I use exhibition road 3 days as a week and is not cool. Have been increasingly worried by shared use down by tube. last week had to warn parents outside one of the pavement cafes who were letting their young kids run all over both car and pedestrian side that vehicles could come along it whuch some did shortly after. They'd had no idea. See it at least once a week - with tourists usually. Anyway' i'm perhaps off topic......
  6. There's a 'major tree works' poster on a tree in Bellwood Road, corner of Inverton Road. Funny thing is that all the 'major' big trees were done over last Autumn there's only one tiny little spindly tree with about 6 low branches to prune - the one with the notice attached.... . Is this the 'major tree works' being planned? There's certainly not much else left that's green after the last time.... H :`(

Hum - see what you mean about 'false economy - looks like potentially a nice little money-spinner for any contracted tree company? And why do it in Spring??? H

  17. Well. Not sure about North Cross Road, but walked back from Peckham Rye Station to Peckham Common and was a funny sort of rotting smell in the air. Never noticed it before. Thought I had something on my shoe lol but wasn't....

  24. Oh = never mind, maybe too late on a Saturday.... This is the Wiki text for anyone interested but you'll have to go to the WIki link for the references: One Billion Rising is a global campaign by women, for women. The movement calls for an end to violence, and for justice and gender equality. One-day event On February 14, 2013, a one-day event was held, a call for one billion women around the world to join together to dance in a show of collective strength. The event was held on the 15th anniversary of the V-Day movement.[5] The word "billion" refers the statistic that one in three women will be raped or beaten in their lifetime, or about one billion.[6] On September 20, 2012, people from 160 countries had signed up to take part in the campaign.[7] On February 14, 2013, the rally was held in more than 190 countries.[8] The campaign was initiated by playwright and activist Eve Ensler (known for her play The Vagina Monologues), and her organization V-Day.[9] The campaign was in part inspired by the Todd Akin 'legitimate rape' and pregnancy comment controversy. Ensler, shocked at Akin's statement, wrote an open letter in response.[10] Around 5,000 organizations have joined the campaign, which has also been aided or endorsed by religious ministers, movement builders, actors Rosario Dawson, Robert Redford,[11][12] and Stella Creasy, British Labour Co-operative politician.[13]
