  3. Oh = never mind, maybe too late on a Saturday.... This is the Wiki text for anyone interested but you'll have to go to the WIki link for the references: One Billion Rising is a global campaign by women, for women. The movement calls for an end to violence, and for justice and gender equality. One-day event On February 14, 2013, a one-day event was held, a call for one billion women around the world to join together to dance in a show of collective strength. The event was held on the 15th anniversary of the V-Day movement.[5] The word "billion" refers the statistic that one in three women will be raped or beaten in their lifetime, or about one billion.[6] On September 20, 2012, people from 160 countries had signed up to take part in the campaign.[7] On February 14, 2013, the rally was held in more than 190 countries.[8] The campaign was initiated by playwright and activist Eve Ensler (known for her play The Vagina Monologues), and her organization V-Day.[9] The campaign was in part inspired by the Todd Akin 'legitimate rape' and pregnancy comment controversy. Ensler, shocked at Akin's statement, wrote an open letter in response.[10] Around 5,000 organizations have joined the campaign, which has also been aided or endorsed by religious ministers, movement builders, actors Rosario Dawson, Robert Redford,[11][12] and Stella Creasy, British Labour Co-operative politician.[13]

SO I have nice memories of using blackboards at home and bad memories of struggling with maths on whiteboards with stinky pens at school. Each to their own...

  11. I removed the video because mentioning to 'use as evidence' seems a bit 'threatening' as does asking for a 'good resolution still photograph', or maybe that was the three filter coffees and a dose of neurosis talking............
  12. and.... What do u wqnt it for john? Nefarious purposes or to 'use as evidence'?
  13. Hi there - I've been thinking about doing this too. WOuld be grateful to know what brand of magnetic paint people used. Some seem better than others.. H
  14. Well in the interests of freedom of expression I'll remove them then...
  15. Are we talking forceps and the potential physical affects on Mum and baby?
  16. Just Williams in Dulwich - not usually that though...Argos sell some but you'd need to check in stock...
  17. Quick, quick - best move across the park to SE15....
  18. Thanks all for the replies - really helpful. I feel reassured. They'd obviously had 'closure' as they've been fully involved until now, so I suppose it would be strange to suddenly 'back off' after they've seen everything else. We were going to keep some of the ashes anyway and I while ago decided to plant something for him in our garden(now balcony). Think we'll save some ashes for the plant... Balloons lovely idea but we're right in the middle of the countryside amongst cows and sheep so I take what you're saying Saffron about the hazards involved, but I love the idea of writing a message. Maybe we'll write one and 'bury' it there.
  19. My father died almost 2 years ago and we're finally getting around to scattering his ashes. We're doing it in a beautiful place around 2 hours train journey away. I'm still trying to decide whether or not to take my 2 boys - 7 and 4 - and wondered how others had dealt with this situation??? Any advice would be really gratefully received. We took them to the cremation and get together afterwards, and then even saw their Granddad when he was laid out in his coffin (I thought it important for them to have memories seeing him peaceful and I didn't offer but they asked if they could see him) and have been as straight as possible (given their ages) about what's happened but I just can't decide about this.... Helen
  20. this makes.me so mad. if there's potentially asbestos then there are local residents and its a walking route to primary and secondary schools. I'm a museum union health and safety rep and this work would not be allowed to happen without risk assessments, method statements etc for the work. is there asbestos on the roofs or is it just a suggestion that there might be? what has been burnt? have all chemicals and other toxic substances been dealt with properly? I walk my kids near, but have started avoiding it sometimes as the fire has been on and off, mainly on, for weeks. sometimes my eyes have felt sore and i have put it down to contact lenses but I wonder...... hope this is being properly checked out.
