Is it okay to be a pregnant 'man' and transgender father?

Not exactly hybrids, as you say, nevertheless, some of those conditions have life-impacting symptoms to one degree or another: e.g., Meta or Triple-X female and Turner, Klinefelter and XYY syndromes - see Sex Chromosome Abnormalities. -

I forgot to play - despite countless reminders - but am fairly certain I wouldn't have chosen the number "1" so wouldn't have won a share of the jackpot anyway - some consolation, though.

eye drops and a feisty one year old - how?!
HAL9000 replied to Belle's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I've found this technique quite effective on children. Position the head with an ear to the ground. With a fingertip, gently pull back the skin just beyond the outside corner of the eye and apply the drop to that corner. It doesn't matter whether the eye is open or closed. The drop will flow down the junction of the eyelid and be drawn into the eye by capillary action and upon blinking. Repeat on the other eye. -

Strawbs Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Im not sure how you would 'sexually influence' > someone..? SeanMacGabhann pulled me up on this very point. I'm not sure that it is possible to influence one's sexual orientation - some evidence seems to suggest that it is already fixed at birth, but I'm aware of exceptions. In my case, I have such a disproportionally high number of gay female first cousins that it suggests (to me) that the trait was passed down via one or other of my maternal grandparents. My point was that those who think it can be directed by experience might be concerned about that issue in such a case. However, as an example, I've noticed that guys in my age group are far more likely to be aroused by a glimpse of stockings and suspender belt than younger guys who grew up in an environment where women hardly ever wear them. I suspect that some fetishes (rubber, bondage, etc.) can form as a result of one's earliest sexual experiences. > I was brought up in a straight house > with my parents being straight, my 3 brothers and > sisters being straight yet I am gay - so did I > miss out on being sexually influenced by my family > as my siblings did? I've had this conversation before - with a couple of bi-girlfriends and their gay lovers. Presumably, you knew you were gay right from the start? But I've known women who only discovered their true preference after going through one or more failed hetro marriages. That applies to a few guys I know, too. > And why on earth would these > people be more likely (for lack of a better > phrase) or at least it be a concern that they would > sexually abuse their children? I didn't mean to say it was - just that some people may think it is. > Sexuality is who you are and not what others > around you are.. Try telling that to my therapist - she says I'm a lesbian trapped in a male body :( Anyway, when we figure out why hetro guys fantasise about gay girls, only then can we claim to understand human sexuality. -

Dulwich Library's magazine and newspaper section (upstairs) used to have reference copies of Scientific American available - one can also browse the latest issue at WH Smith in Rye Lane. Failing that, PM me and we'll sort something out.

I was at the ANC's Patten Street headquarters to meet its president Oliver Tambo and Solly Smith, then head of the London office - later exposed as a double agent, shortly before BOSS bombed it in March 1982. When the bomb detonated, the building was empty except for a caretaker who was only slightly injured. It was a close call - the explosives were enhanced with vials of nerve gas and hidden in the room where our meeting had taken place.

Legal advice sought for penalty fare notice error
HAL9000 replied to TonyQuinn's topic in The Lounge
TonyQuinn Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > BTW Hal9000, can you please explain to me what > "Without Prejudice save as to costs" means? I am not a lawyer: my understanding is that a letter marked "Without Prejudice" cannot be used as evidence in any subsequent court action against one. Adding "save as to costs" means that one can use the letter at the end of any such action to claim (or avoid) costs by showing that efforts were made to settle the matter before it went to court. I think it also puts the other side on notice that the writer is a force to be reckoned with - which may persuade them not to proceed unless they have a cast-iron case. -

Quite! That usage seems to have dropped out of fashion these days but you're not the only one who remembers the old plate.

Legal advice sought for penalty fare notice error
HAL9000 replied to TonyQuinn's topic in The Lounge
Just my opinion: don't do anything until you receive a formal notice through the post - the chances are the DVLC search (for the driver's details) will reveal the error at the Council's end leading to the ticket being cancelled. If any correspondence arises - mark your letters "Without Prejudice save as to costs." and make no admissions therein. -
... or wear a paper bag over your head - it's cheaper :)

Why not organise a singles-only Valentine?s dinner and/or drinks night for Sunday? There's no reason why so many singletons should spend the evening alone - is there?

Usuary - the practice of lending at interest - is forbidden to Christians, Moslems and Jews by the Judaeo-religious Scriptures. However, in the case of Judaism, the restriction only applies between Jews, thus leaving Jews free to lend at interest to Gentiles - which is why (historically) Jews have sought employment as bankers and financiers - it's kosher.

Declan - if one has a computer with an audio input socket and an application like, say, Audacity then it is reasonably easy to convert audio from a tape recorder to a digital file format that can be burnt on to CD media.

The Old Testament documents a number of sightings of the God featured therein: ?Now when Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, "I am God Almighty ; Walk before Me, and be blameless;" (Gen. 17:1) ?Now the LORD appeared to him [Abraham] by the oaks of Mamre, while he was sitting at the tent door in the heat of the day.? (Gen. 18:1) ?So Jacob named the place Peniel, for he said, ?I have seen God face to face, yet my life has been preserved.?? (Genesis 32:30) ?God spoke further to Moses and said to him, "I am the LORD; and I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as God Almighty, but by My name, LORD, I did not make Myself known to them.?? (Exodus 6:2-3) ?Then Moses went up with Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, and they saw the God of Israel; and under His feet there appeared to be a pavement of sapphire, as clear as the sky itself. Yet He did not stretch out His hand against the nobles of the sons of Israel; and they saw God, and they ate and drank.? (Exodus 24:9-11) ?He said, "Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the LORD, shall make Myself known to him in a vision. I shall speak with him in a dream. "Not so, with My servant Moses, He is faithful in all My household; With him I speak mouth to mouth, Even openly, and not in dark sayings, And he beholds the form of the LORD. Why then were you not afraid To speak against My servant, against Moses?" (Num. 12:6-8)
