  1. Hi Malcolm, Would love to -- I can't do this Friday, but a group of us are riding along the Thames Path from Greenwich to Dartford on Sunday if you'd like to join us? Would like to do your plan too though another time; getting right out into the country would be fun (and nice to meet new people) TL
  2. Did anybody hear Humphreys this morning on Radion 4 giving JS a good grubbing? It only confirmed my suspicions that she is being 'witch-hunted' for choosing not to be a 'proper' woman and be wife and mother. Surely if she chooses to spend most of her time in London at her sisters rather than as wife and mother in Redditch that's her business and her prerogative? And the slating she's getting for paying for her husband's porn, seems an implicit dig that because she's in London all the time she's a crap wife who can't satisfy her husband. Watch this space, the next thing the press will dig out is that one of her kids was caught dealing crack in the school playground.... dontch just love this misogynistic society we live in oh :/ edited for naughty spelling mistake!
  3. ...What Parky says.... http://entertainment.uk.msn.com/tv/news/Article.aspx?cp-documentid=15793577&GT1=61503
  4. ...hehe, I certainly hope so bub
  5. Brum, I'm not that kind of girl I promise ;-) Just like looking at things that make my eyes dilate
  6. Yes, please do -- it was really gorgeous along the river -- bit of traffic dodging on the way to Greenwich though, but safe enough
  7. Not really, we go really fast, but Pippin the dog manages alright in the basket Very topical -- didn't she live on LL?
  8. Hello forumites, A small group of us from Kings go cycling around the SE London area on Sunday mornings -- today we cycled along the Thames path near Greenwich, next week we plan to go to Dartford along the same path. If anyone would like to join us please come along -- we meet at the EDT at 10am (well, I duck into Nero's for a cheeky coffee and watch from a comfy chair until they turn up!). TL
  9. Pah -- they always are MP! The other guy he's standing next to is also quite a hotty!
  10. ...who's the gorgeous fella with the jip-up jumper and pint of Guinness in the Feb meet photos -- I bet it's a forum rascal, I always fall for the bad boys (or the married ones eek!) :)
  11. OMG -- that looks like me -- my right leg goes a bit wonky like that when I'm trying to get something out of my bag --- where/when was this taken 2xcharlie? BUT -- my butt aint that big tho innit
  12. C'mon fellas, the sun's shining, it's spring, we're alive..... Go and have a latte, I find that always makes me feel better on a Saturday afternoon
  13. ...Anyone been to see this? Is it any good? It's billed as across between Clockwork Orange and Layer Cake (both of which I like)...
  14. ....Oi ya buggers -- I've just spent half an hour of my morning chuckling over this thread when I should be writing boo! To put this forum in perspective, you should spend some time on HolyMoly's board -- it's great, you can shout and rant without anybody getting sanctimonious -- makes you feel a hellava lot better after a hard days work! Anyone else chat on HolyMoly? Care to divulge who you are if you do??!!
  15. Am still at work and may just meander down afterwards -- would be great to meet some forumites -- what time are things starting?
  16. ...Mmm, the token male (if he deserves the title Man) in our dept is my supervisor, and he loves stirring up trouble amongst the females -- i cannot wait to get outta here alive and rid my life of these gutter rats -- just got to get through (sorry to sound like Beddingfield) the next 7 months of this prison sentence and move on to better things (with much better people) :)
  17. What's really pi**ing me off at this very moment is bitchy women in the office -- I work in an academic establishment, and chose my career because I naively thought I would be surrounded by people who share my passion for the subject. But this place is just as bad as any small-minded office you'd find, and it really depresses me :( I don't wanna be rich, I don't wanna be famous, I just don't want to have to 'bat-away' silly little bitchy comments every five minutes because I am surrounded by people who hide their incompetency by feeding a clique :( Grrr, it makes me mad -- where are the honest, decent people when you want them???? I don't see why I should lower myself to purile behaviour(I'll just, as Martha Wainwright says, 'internalise')
  18. Sorry to hear about your experience :( Definitely complain -- I had an account with these thieves for 11 years, and closed my account (but after doing the 'claiming back all the dodgy charges') -- they made this very difficult for me, not banking (ptp) on my meticulous filing system -- ie, they said unless I could 'name' every single charge, with date they couldn't do anything -- so I did :) Got about 500 quid back in estimated charges over 6 years -- but I closed the account because of rudeness and general lack of customer service. Isn't EDF great -- you've even got the Chairman's address a few posts back -- well done Dulwich peeps :)
  19. Hmmm, isn't some of this financial crisis down to the fact that the banks lent 'greedily' with money they didn't have to feed our insatiable need to buy property and goods inconsistent with our level of wealth? Surely, we should not only be angry with the banks who did this, but with ourselves for being so greedy! It's a bit like the kid who hassles his mother for sweets and then getting angry with his mother when obesity sets in. We need the free market -- but it needs to be regulated in the sense that risk should be considered much more than it was in the sub-prime era....the buy/sell model IMHO was good and helped us to boom in the 90s, but the bankers AND the consumers need to be regulated ...but I'm not an economist, just a humble neuro researcher :)
  20. Bon3ard -- how strange, I was going to post the very same thing -- what time did you cycle through Greenwich? We were there around 11.30-12pm, and sloped off to the Trafalgar Tavern for a lovely drink by the river....was disconcerting to see all the police tents up in Greenwich though :( RIP
  21. SOunds wonderful Woof -- I have a Ridgeback mountain bike -- Forest Hill would be easier for me, but happy to go with the flow about where to meet...could you PM me the details once it's finalised, just in case I forget to check in on this post. Thanks, TL
  22. Woof, I'd be really interested in this too -- I do a lot of cycling around London and on weekends -- South coast sounds lovely -- when are you planning to do this? Could you keep me posted as I'll definitely join :) Thanks, TL
  23. ..It's a dire Monday, so with the Reflected Abbreviation Rule I give you: DenMark Hill
  24. ...Sorry to use the term 'Chav', I don't make reference really to anyone's class when I say "fag drawn, battle-worn", I was actually trying to make the point that there are certain types of people (of any class) who seem to get all excited by tragedy, and who are the first to become martyrs or jump on the band-wagon, yet I bet when the going was good they'd be the first to slag Jade off. I despise hypocrisy, that is all -- but I shouldn't have used the word chav. I come from very humble beginnings, and have had to work hard to do what I do -- and made many sacrifices but I'm happy with my lot. I just chuckle inside when people assume I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth -- it makes me realise that I wouldn't want to know somebody who thought they could suss someone out in a few minutes. Hence, I admire Jade because she dragged herself out of a hole, which I am sure was very difficult, but she ended up having lots of leeches being her 'best friend'.
  25. ...Whoah there FL, you whipped that out of the bag pretty sharpish....
