Jacbuc replied to Magdaf's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Really sorry to hear of this. The police should put your mum in touch with a victim support team who might be able to help her regain some of her confidence kind regards -

Venue hire- with outside space for bouncy castle?
Jacbuc replied to Furness's topic in The Family Room Discussion
weve hired Jags sports hall whith its own bouncy castle (inside) plus other play equipment and two staff - it was a bout 18 months ago so youd need to check if they still do it. Only downside was that the food area was upstairs and I had to lug the food up there while party downstairs -
for additional information go to the other thread but I think it is likely that little acres is a small fee paying independent school rather than informal home educaters. Is Southwark aware of this?

sorry I had tried to copy and paste Renata's views on the school setting up in the park from the earlier thread mentioned by intexasatthemoment but there seems to be a technical problem with doing that. However in 2013 Renata wrote that she did not think that the site was suitable for a school. Does this mean that it has gone ahead without the councils knowledge?

New Alternative Primary School opening in Peckham Rye Park
Jacbuc replied to kitwe's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Im sorry my previous post was not an attempt to relaunch this thread rather than to quote from it on the present thread in the main east dulwich section about consultation over the change of use of the one o'clock club. Ive obviously not mastered the technology and may try again later -

First Mate, thank you for making the links following my initial reference to the school. Renata have you looked at their website it refers to staff they employ and on my reading of it- it does not in anyway sound like a group of people who are home tutoring their own children. I presume if it was they would make it clear that any childs parent needs to be hands on involved in their education on the site - on reading it again it does not make it clear that fees are involved but I cannt think that they are doing this for free if they are employing staff.

did anyone recognise the streets outside the back gate of the horniman gardens in last nights showing of Danny Boyles Babylon on channel 4? I was left wondering how they managed to get so many armed police hiding in the hedges in the middle of the night without frightening at least a few unsuspecting locals.
-
Im glad to hear the police came round quickly and hope that they manage to match the possible finger print. In my previous address someone attempted to get into my back window (I noticed as theyd moved the window box and left footprints in the snow at the time). However on not getting into mine they climbed over the fence into my neighbours garden and broke in there instead - so it may be that they did not target you in the first instance but they tried other places first - the police may contact your neighbours. Glad to hear that you got your stuff back kind regards
-
that sounds really frightening. How did they get the door open? I hope that youve contacted the police though usually they turn up some time later just to check for finger prints. We fitted an alarm after we were burgled and now have the option to set this to go off if anyone enters the downstairs at night. kind regards

Their website says that that they will deliver, really looking forward to it opening
