We had most of our backlog delivered yesterday - lots of our parcels and post. Some dated early August. Others not yet arrived. Looks like Helen Hayes? visit has achieved something but I don?t see the service ever getting back to the level it was at when Silvester Road was open. I will try and have things sent by click and collect in future.

Live near Lordship Lane and had 2 parcels go missing. Waiting for 4 items posted to us from mid August. What on earth is going on? Letters only comes 1 or 2 days per week.

Annie dressmaker/ alterations - excellent quality work
sian posted a topic in Request a Tradesperson
I just wanted to recommend Annie local ED dressmaker who did a wonderful job altering some clothes for me. One was an expensive dress which it turned out had been cut wrongly and didn?t sit properly. She fixed this. Highly recommend her. 07956 527824 -
Forest Hill Road Surgery - again.

Has anyone been able to get an appointment online here. The facility seems to have been removed from patient online. The appointments on offer are mainly at the Lister where the drs are very nice but they can?t review medication etc. The medication service has been terrible and I?m endlessly going between the surgery and pharmacy to sort out very routine repeat prescriptions. This practice used to be so much better. -

Breastfeeding twins - any tips please?
sian replied to emmylondon's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi all advice here is excellent. Don't worry if you can't feed both together - it is managable. I had one who was a slow feeder and the other was a gulper who would finish his feed in a few minutes. They couldnt feed at the same time at all in the first few weeks or indeed very much after that. I also liked having time with one baby and feeding them separately gave me this. You do have to be able to screen out the noise sometimes from the waiting twin. Having a baby bouncer - are they still used helped. Dont rush to express. Take advice from the brilliant Clare Kedves about the best time to do this. If you ask she may organise a special breastfeeding class for twin mothers. I am sure that she did that but that was `16 years ago... I think the main thing is to build up confidence that you can do it. Get advice from those who will support you in your choice and ruthlessly screen out those who won't. I threw one midwife out of the house on a post natal visit when she - who had not had any children herself - said that I was silly to try breast feeding twins. Defintely agree with Spooner re turbocharged expresser. All the very best. Let us know how you get on. -

Have you tried the herbal tea recommended to prevent colic in breastfed babies. Sorry dont know how you are feeding and no judgments of any sort on feeding methods. Chemist on Herne hill sells. Helped with our youngest/ Hope this eases soon. It is so distressing. Also highly recommend cranial osteopathy -
thanks for all the helpful information provided Renata. I am past the stage of secondary choices now - huge relief - but the information you are giving is extremely timely. Good luck to all involved in this process

Concerned about possibility of a teachers' strike?

Who is this for EMC? I think you will find the Taxpayers Alliance can supply you with a group of ranters any time you like. -
Unless I am mistaken Dulwich Village C of E infants looks as if it has been through a refurbishment as now have all the local primary schools. I dont recall the same degree of criticism in relation the the Village. Why should St Anthony's children have to attend school in a building erected on a temporary basis 40 years ago? Why should children at this school be deprived of a building which is fit for purpose? As I understand it the local parish and diocese will have to make substantial contributions towards the cost.

Full time working mum - where does the exercise fit in?
sian replied to ryedalema's topic in The Family Room Discussion
hI ryedalema Have you tried running? I have made several attempts to run but it only stuck after the birth of our youngest when I realised it was the only way i oculd fit regular exercise around work, kids etc.
