I have just found this thread and am shocked (but maybe not that shocked...) to see how many other cyclists have felt themselves to be in a dangerous postion regarding Clarkes coaches in this area. They always race around in very powerful buses and have no regard for cyclists. Once I was forced out of the traffic stream on Grove Vale near Blackbird. I caught up with the driver at Denmark Hill station and had a go. Didn't do much else, though. He basically swore at me and said I was 'in the way' or something. i.e. I wasn't travelling a 30mph. Tossers. Something must be done.

Our Nokias experiencing bad reception on Orange too. Still bad this morning, service dropping out and then coming back for a minute before going again. Wonder what the issue is.

It is illegal to plant a certain type (forget which) of rhodedendron in any part of the country because of its pervasiveness. However, I had a conversation with an RSPB chap in Dulwich park a few years ago about the parakeets and he said they cause no problems for indigenous birds. see here

I found two newts which proceeded to play dead but their beady little eyes gave them away. V cute little things with spotty orange tummies. Couple of frogs too.

another vote for Sema Thai here, lunch menu with starter, main and glass of wine for a tenner is a bloody good deal and the food is good IMO. OK it's not the Blue Elephant but neither is the price.

Train to London Bridge and then the Thames Clipper, it's fantastic - cheap, exhilerating and drops you right at the door.

A blackbird's distress/pissed off call is a very annoying constant tweeting, as opposed to their song which is lovely. If there is a blackbird nesting and a cat is lurking it will do its distress call constantly. Get over it, it's nature. Either that or get a shotgun.

I usually get my 5 year old girl to at least squat behind a car when she's caught short in the street. These kids honestly when will they learn to "make sure you go for a pee before you leave". Tiny bladders though at that age. Said 5 year old (who was 4 at the time) was caught short in a hire car in a traffic jam in the middle of Harlem, right outside the Apollo as it happens, after making her hold it until she was practically crying we had no choice but to let her piss in a tuppaware pot and then pour it out on to the road out the car door. Hmmm. Just referred to the live version I have and I don't think it was ever gonna be a super simple one to play. I get: Bbmaj7 / Am7 / C9(no 3rd) / Dm7 / Am7 / G / D C(add9) / G / Gm / D / A7sus / Bbmaj7 / C7sus Most of that is not super complex, but if you're having problems with the Bmaj7 and Csus then it probably is! Sorry if that was absolutely no help.:)

I went in to the sorting office the other day and the guy on the counter said that RM is in chaos with a huge backlog of post. Special and Recorded are prioritised. I am waiting for four or five packages for up to two weeks now and basically the posties won't work overtime so the backlog will only be gradually reduced. We are all going to have to hang in there until the whole thing is resolved, only then discovering whether our parcels have actually gone missing or not. It is a pain.
