Forest Hill Road Practice - in Meltdown ?
dbboy replied to George Orwell's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I have nothing but absolute praise for Krystal's in Numhead, for four years they supplied all the medicines for my elderly relative that I collected every month, nothing was too much trouble, they always ordered things so had everything in stock, are always polite, kind, helpful and go the extra mile and some. If only other pharmacies could be like Krystal, one of our local bright stars, unlike the unhelpful, miserable, begrudging Day Lewis Pharmacy across the road were everything is an issue, or Morrisons or Boots in Rye Lane. -
Forest Hill Road Practice - in Meltdown ?

Don't get me wrong, it is NOT the doctors, but rather the managers and receptionists who have no regard for patients. if they were sorted things may then run much smoother. -
Forest Hill Road Practice - in Meltdown ?
dbboy replied to George Orwell's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I walked into FHR practice a couple of weeks ago having had a letter from the CCG saying I was due a health check, Receptionist turned around and said, can't make an appointment till all the flu injections had been done, On asking if the health check was with a doctor, the receptionist told me a nurse does them. Shan't bother. Seems like they run the practice with no regard for patients. -
Ivan - sounds like you run your life on a little red book. EDB - FACTUALLY INCORRECT Plots will not be sold, but perhaps re-used, no problem with that, Graves are NEVER sold, you never own the ground where the grave is, the plot is purchased for 50 years. It then reverts to the council unless you extend the grant. One Tree Hill will nor be affected, do you mean the old nurseries site, as next door to One Tree Hill is Honor Oak Allotments. I fear you use emotive language and present information that is factually incorrect. where will there be flooding? how will there be increased traffic? What religious discrimination? And finally how can you state financial waste?

There are NO WOODS either on one tree hill. Why don't Southwark Council begin reclaiming Nunhead Cemetery and bring that back into use, turning old gravestones and re-using plots that are more than, lets say 100 years old? Yes it would incur an expense, but in teh longer term you would have burial space for another , I guess 50 years? edborders Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Is there a way to change the name of this thread? > > We are no longer dealing with Southwark's > planning applications for the cutting down of > woods on One Tree Hill or in Camberwell Old > Cemetery. Yes. Firstly - EDB, As Penguin68 put it so elegantly "It's a cemetery - where they bury people. It got over-grown through neglect, now they are putting that right. There are loads of real 'wild' spaces and woods around the area, which are properly managed as woods, and 'wild' spaces. This is now being properly managed (at last) as a cemetery. Get over it." If you do not belief in burial then can I suggest you leave of us who do alone so we can remember our relatives where we buried them in OUR LOCAL cemetery. If you want to walk in woods, well there are plenty around, what you describe as woods are over grown consecrated grounds that are being brought back into use for burials as was intended when COC was created back in the 1850's and now to prevent further recreational ground being used. Secondly - your petite piece on ITV London last week was SO MIS-LEADING and UNTRUE. Thirdly, James - REALLY, what planet are you on????? AND FINALLY southwark woods do not exist, never have done, never will. I SUPPORT THE MAXIMISATION OF BURIAL SPACE IN COC.

FHR Practice were do I start - the doctor's on the whole are ok, when I saw one earlier in the year she was fantastic and did everything possible to help and even contacted Guy's for additional clarification. The others IMO are a mixed bunch. Getting an appointment like others have said can result in waiting a month. If you try you'll be offered a telephone consultation (it's their policy now apparently), once you've negotiated the admin staff (prickly is a way to nice description), who are anything but helpful. Example's trying to see a doctor for an emergency appointment only resulted through consistent badgering, arguing and being assertive; Having dropped in a repeat prescription, even after going to pick it up after two weeks they could not find it and it took a further good twenty mins for them to find it. The final straw was being asked if I had already picked it up, arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh The problem is a total lack of communication skills by the admin staff.

Was in Penge and noticed the HSBC branch there has also been closed. -
I thought it was closing and moving up the Lane to share space in another store, so shock and horror (well not quite) but surprise on Saturday morning to see it had been revamped and transitioned into a modern Post Office branch.

And just to mention AGAIN, we are spoilt for green space around Se22 and SE23, if you want woods look no further than the Great North Wood rising from The Grove right up and into Sydenham and backing onto the golf course. -
