    Free Page

Would it be possible to have a page where items that are FREE (not for sale or in exchange for something else) could be posted?
  6. Looks like its time for you to switch to another utility supplier, go to one of the smaller suppliers, you'll be surprised at the savings you can make. I'm paying 3.65p/KWhr for my gas on a fixed term deal till March 2015 with one supplier and 13.89p/KWhr for electricity with another supplier on a fixed term deal till June 2015.
  7. Would have been Marvin Gaye's 75th birthday today

  14. Libretto not that good according to scores on the doors food hygiene ratings http://www.scoresonthedoors.org.uk/business/k-libretto-and-daughters--363117.html Penguin68 states "Libretto's has a score of 4 (the certificate, awarded very recently) is in his shop for anyone to see - he was not awarded the full 5 because he would not clear the shop of his pictures and curios (kept on shelving entirely separate from his preparation and serving areas)". So am adding this to the post.

    Boiler - help!

BG idea of checking the back plate is to stab it repeatedly using a screwdriver to see if it is corroded and then say you need a new boiler if the screwdriver goes through, resulting in you paying for it not them having caused the breakage. Are you sure its the back plate and not the boiler drain plug that has come loose?
  17. That's seriously catchy http://24hoursofhappy.com/ I'm happy clap along (takes a few seconds to load)
  18. Black pudding on toast or fried bread topped with fried eggs, Yum
  19. Use of poor spoken language/grammar. A few examples include "ya get me" and/or "know what I mean" at the end of every other sentence. And "that was awesome"
  20. I'd prefer to see what's in the window rather than relying on him bringing things from the back.
  21. I believe it was the other way round, Mothers Inc was Unwins and the Chinese takeaway was the Express Dairy shop. I think as long as I can remember the dry cleaners was the same before. 22. Before then the little sweet shop which is now the lettings shop (Bizylets) was called Osgoods, the Chinese takeway used to be a dairy shop, the Turkish shop used to be a family greengrocers and what was Bill Coes TV repair shop (before he was forced out by the landlord) was Plaice bakeries (part of a small chain, who also had shops in Forest Hill and Lordship Lane where Badger bakers is now. As Laur said what was the chippy Dolphin Fish bar, used to be a kebab shop. Never quite sure how the butchers in Woodvale survives, seems to be closed more than its open, shuts at 2pm on a Saturday afternoon, probably the busiest day of the week and on the occasion I've been inside seems to have a very limited display of meat in the inside fridge but the main window is filled with junk and the service is so slow. What is now the converted flats on the corner of Woodvale and Langton Rise was the Moore Park Hotel/pub.
  23. As said top of Canonbie or about half way up
  24. Had a BT Open Reach engineer attend this morning who checked both my phone socket and connection box where it comes into the property. Apparently it is a fault at the exchange. He called me back about an hour later to say it is actually a software fault in the exchange affecting 100 numbers. It needs a BT software engineer to go to the exchange to fix it, so maybe worth calling 100, option 4 if you have a similar problem. Now told again it is a London wide problem affecting some "customers" and will not be repaired till midnight 26th Feb. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh
  25. I am with the Post Office for my telephone and am experiencing the same problem, however neighbours with BT have no such problems. Have been told it will take 48 hrs to be fixed????? This is the 21st century isn't it!!!!!!!!!!!!
