Is their anyone working in the events business that could either help or has contacts that they could use to act as a intermediary. Unfortunately I don't have business contacts in that sector, otherwise would help. -

Renata, I'm talking about Cabrini in this instance, not Fairlawn so please don't change the subject. Tonyquinn - I think you've achieved your objective of highlighting an issue you percieve. There is an island for crossing in front of Cabrini already which is used. and that in the morning and afternoon has a lollipop lady - what else do you want - would no traffic make you happy. If people wish to cross else where they do so at their own risk. Cross in the designated place and you will be a lot safer. -

And many still drive, park recklessley and will be the potential cause of an accident. -

As e-dealer said it was the council that decided to make the lights permanent. So how many accidents happened on Forest Hill Road in relation to the zebra crossing prior to the traffice lights? -

There are three bus services that parents can use, this will reduce traffic congestion and help the environment. errr, no it's a lot longer than half an hour. -

Why? With a zebra crossing it has the same impact -

Yes they are separate issues, but they are all linked. Writing to perents is not enough it NEEDS ENFORCEMENT. Cars parked up and down both sides of Forest Hill Road by Cabrini is the potential cause of an accident waiting to happen (as is the parents who use the bottom of Netherby and Canonbie roads as temporary carparks whilst dropping off and picking up their children. Sort this out and it will contribute towards helpibng resolve the issue of speeding. The road does not need lights or speed humps otherwise you'll bring the road to a standstill. Going North most mornings traffic backs up from Forest Hill Road into Honor Oak Park. It's not hard to cross Forest Hill Road by Cabrini, you just need to judge the time you want to cross. As for the lollipop lady she does her job and no more. -

Fact 1: The lights were supposed to be a temporary measure whilst the Thanes Water works were undertaken, Fact 2 When the work was completed the zebra crossing was NOT re-installed. Fact 3 The council then conducted a ?consultation? on Forest Hill Road. Fact 4 The council based on the outcome of the ?consultation? said the traffic lights would become permanent Fact 5 Now ?The replacement of these lights has come from TFL? Question 1 What was the purpose of a consultation, when TFL dictate what happens to the traffic lights Question 2 Who is ACTUALLY responsibe for this waste of money, the councillors, TFL or something else. And finally Renata - "perhaps computer says no" -

Traffic lights with a crossing at Jonathos teh newsagent just past teh 63 bus stop 5. Traffice lights with a crosssing at Colyton road 6. Speed camersa by Peckham Rye Park 7. Trafffic lights at Peckham Rye / East Dulwich road -

What I meant was the place infront of the school where the lollipop lady gets (or trys to get) people to cross the road. -

Renatta, it needs the Council or authorities i.e. the Police to ENFORCE the restrictions which parents blatantlt disregard Furthermore the Traffic enforcement officers are sometimes there (only ever seen one there once) but do nothing about the FHR, HOR, HOP junction and was hesitamnt to talk tp parents parked on the Lewisham side of teh road??????? I see no benefit in a traffic calming measure between the two bus stops you mention. Have there been any accidents there, not that I am aware off. Any traffic calming measure particularly there would further hold up traffic on all three roads in both directions, it is slowly enough already so please don't fix something that doesn't need fixing. There is; 1. a crossing outside the school 2. Road humps along Honor Oak Park and I believe Honor Oak Road 3. Traffic lights at Woodvale 4. Traffic lights with a crossing at Jonathos teh newsagent just past teh 63 bus stop 5. Traffice lights with a crosssing at Colyton road 6. Speed camersa by Peckham Rye Park 7. Trafffic lights at Peckham Rye / East Dulwich road -
as I suggested sounds like you were targeted.

Why don't you start by tackling the huge problem of parents with chikldren who atrtend St Francesca Cabrini School and park to drop off their children from at least Honor Oak Rise up to the main gates of the school on BOTH sides of the road, acroos the main gates of the school, round the corner into Honor Oak Park, on the pavement and generally block the road. They additionally park in the bottom of each of Netherby and Canonbie roads. If the parents did not park so dangerously and without any consideration for anyone else, the crossing in front of the school operated by a Lollipop lady (who you forgot to mention) would be a whole lot safer. Please start by tackling the parents before you attempt to have introduced more traffic calming measures and infact why not conduct a survey and act on its findings. Yep, you did that for Colyton road and ignored common sense!!!!!!!!!!! -
Sorry to hear this, sounds like it may have been targeted as they saw you had cameras

why not make it walking pace and bring the whole area to a standstill, I believe Honor Oak Road already has speed bumps. -

The closure of the bus stop opposite the Co-Op on Forest Hill Road is going to severely inconvienience people who need to attend the surgery and have mobility issues. Another poorly thought out consequence of the road works that have been over looked. -

Forest Hill Road/Colyton Road Roadworks
dbboy replied to Renata Hamvas's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
PLEASE NO, NO, NO to the works at present. The work at the Peckham Rye /East Dulwich Road junction is causing enough delays already coupled to the current water leak repair works at the top end of Forest Hill Road. Another set of works at FHR/Colyton road would make Peckham Rye Common to Forest Hill Road/Honor Oak Park and Road one huge traffic jam with traffic going nowhere and queing to ### knows where. And as for the temporary lights, that's what they were suppossed to be until the council officers decided not to remiove them. Just give us back the zebra crossing as it was prior to the Homestall road works and get rid of those traffuc lights. Traffic would then flow much more freely and speed up the 63/363 than it does at present.
