Tips for afterschool clubs for a 12 year old

Have you tried Jags or Alleyns? You do not have to be members to book coached activities -
We decided not to renew our brown bin subscription this year, but I can't find a way on the council website to request a bin removal. Am I missing something?

Sounds about right to me. We paid £6k to £7k for our children's oerthadontic treatment 5 to 8 years ago.

GP surgeries that offer shared care agreement?
Soylent Green replied to charlottep's topic in The Family Room Discussion
This is what you are up against, requesting for an NHS GP to accept a private diagnosis: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-65534449 I am not saying that your son's private assessment is bogus, but the NHS has to put in place one policy fits all because they do not have the resources to investigate individual cases. Keep pushing for CAMHS and get your child's SENDCO to do the same. Good luck! -
Hayes Grove and Besant place are both less than 20 years old. There are also mews houses on the site of the old working men's club off Lordship Lane. And there are mews houses off Oglander.

Effective flea treatment and prevention

Preparations from the vets on prescription are the only things that work. The shop bought stuff does nothing. Also flea bomb your house. -
Turning right from East Dulwich Grove onto Forest Hill Rd
Soylent Green replied to a topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
What is needed is a camera to fine all the drivers jumping the lights as they drive from Nunhead to East Dulwich. I've often had to wait at those lights to turn right only to find four or five vehicles jumping across my path on the orange and red lights. -
I met 3 PCSOs at the cemetery last week handing out maps and emphasising the rules. They told us about some complaints that have been made about dog walkers (not picking up poo, walking on key graves - war memorial etc - and about one old lady who was knocked over by a dog). Increased presence and clamp down are in response to these compaints. I usually let my dog trot along off lead around the cemetery as I know she is no threat, but I appreciate that the rules exist for a reason and if we want to enjoy the beauty and bird song of the cemetery while dog walking we just have to do as we are told. There's One Tree Hill and Sydenham Woods near by for untethered wooded dog walking afterall .

GP surgeries that offer shared care agreement?
Soylent Green replied to charlottep's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I think you will have to keep pushing for a CAMHS diagnosis. I have seen many posts like this on the ADHD parents FB group and no-one had found an NHS gp to prescribe from a private diagnosis. Methylphenidate (and other ADHD meds) are very tightly controlled which is why CAMHS set up shared care agreements with GPs. A GP cannot prescribe without the guidance and consent of an NHS psychiatrist. Be persistent and keep pushing and you will get the NHS diagnosis. It may not take as long as you think. My daughter was diagnosed in 2016 and we waited less than a year for her first appointment. Good luck! -
St John's and St Clement's Primary School Street
Soylent Green replied to gaylad's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
One of the problems with this is that Ady's road is the main access out of the area as you cannot exit through Ondine, Copleston or Oglander. Imagine the cars trying to turn right at the bottom of the park by the church - in both directions - as well as problems at the Amott road end. Fiasco! -
She will be invited to the Maths Scolars' days at Imperial University where they work with undergrads on problem solving and also invited on maths trips. She will also be invited to attend specialist maths sessions in school.

Cost of Loft Extension?
Soylent Green replied to Delawis Delaw's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Ours is now 5 years old, so I cannot comment on current costs. If your existing stairs are more than 10 years old, you do not have to have them redone. If your existing loft has steels, you might not need new ones, but a structural engineer would need to see it. If your roof is good, this will also help. We had ours done by an amazing local builder (as opposed to a loft conversion company) who worked with our ideas and added some of his own which we liked. His mantra was 'this is not a problem' whenever we raised an issue. Because he was not working to a template, we didn't have to have things done that we didn't need/want. However, unlike loft conversion companies, you will need your own architect and structural engineer. -
School picket lines this Thursday
Soylent Green replied to BornAgainSELondoner's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
So, you would prefer more teachers to leave the profession than the thousands that are leaving already. Perhaps you don't think children need to be eductated by skilled and talented professionals and would rather these highly numerate and literate people with excellent communication and personal skills went and worked elsewhere. I personally value education and the people who teach. I also think that if there weren't picket lines, you 'd probably be berating teachers for having a day off! -
Does anyone have this driving school's number?
Soylent Green replied to Soylent Green's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Thanks Silvano. I will email you. -
Just putting feelers out for a suitable driving school for my kids. I drive a Toyota Yaris Hybrid and am looking for an instructor that uses this same car. I saw one on Grove Vale today but did not have time to take down the number. If anyone knows a driving school that uses this type of car - or other similar automatic - please get in touch!

It will be nteresting to see if she is seen out with so many dogs again. Five on leads seems too many to me.
