Hi all well I have joined facebook but could not find the link or group for ED, so had to join London, any ideas or help greatly appreciated. Badger mate you have a point there I was up til well past 1am checking Facebook out & it is very addictive. See y'all there Cheers GG xx
  3. :'( Hi Nik, welcome back, did you have a good holiday? Unfortunately I am on lates this week so wont be able to join you all on Fri unless you are somewhere that is open late? If not another time, sigh!! For wild gay celebrations dont forget London Pride on Sat 30th June a bunch of girlies I know are meeting up in Trafalgar Square at 11am on the 30th for the march & festivities.... Cheers GG
  4. CitizenED you are a bloody genius. Sheer intelligence & pure wit, I am new to ED so I am gonna give this a try too. I can be new & revamp my image & be a whole different person from the GG that lived in North London not so long ago. Mmmwwwwwwhaaaaa haaaaaaaa haaaaaaa (shrouding myself in a rainbow cloack & rather fetching stripy fleecy hat) Cheers GG
  5. :'( Hmmmmmmmm just checked my rota & I am on a late shift on 6th so I cant make that one either but I am looking forward to meeting you all soon. Cheers GG
  6. Hey Badger The 6th is better for me & Nikster will be back then too, although I will be on lates again next week so maybe not.... boohoo. I will be going down to Sunny S'arfend on Friday for the weekend to see my folks so I cant make the Gowlett :'(. I am sure we will all meet up one gorgeous sunny evening somewhere soon. London Pride is on the 30th June too which is not too far away if we can meet before then & if anyone wants to go along to the march or following events at least we will kinda know each other by then. Cheers GG
  7. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Happy Faces or Chocolate Fingers for me Cheers GG
  8. Hmmmmmmmm dont like the sound of that mate... "best of luck if you go in there" is it that rough??? GG
  9. Hi newbie here again!!! Now it may seem a little rough & ready but you know, I have been a Nth London dykette for the past few years. My girl is coming over from Oz in just over 2 weeks & hasn't played pool since February & is absolutely hanging for a game, can anyone please tell me if there are any establishments in or near ED that have hidden pool tables? I have been discreetly peering through pub windows for the last 2 weeks & have been brave enough to go in Rye Hotel, The Vale & EDT but with no luck. Any info gladly appreciated. Cheers GG
  10. Mr Sean, I know I am a newbie but are the local golf clubs all elitest members only clubs then? I believe there are 2, Aquarius & oooooh I cant remember the other one??? I have never played, other than grazy golf & pitch & putt but the Mrs likes a round or two so may be interested once she arrives from Oz mid June. Cheers GG
  11. Ahhhh errr hmmmm Mr Sean, when & where is the next EDF drinkup? I will try to get along, I will be the nervous looking newbie. Cheers GG
  12. :)) Sounds good to me, any night but Weds is good for me. I shall spike my hair & dig up appropriate attire ?? It would be great to meet some "locals" & please dont go all Roysden Vasey on me & say "You're not from round here, this is a local pub, for local people" :-S ;-) Have a great holiday Nik, & Badger you coming along? Cheers GG
  13. ;-) No offence taken, but as new to the area & the forum I dont want to go getting myself a reputation before I have even begun... Besides I am betrothed to my lil aussie chick. Hee hee GG
  14. Well having been to Oz to finally meet my partner after meeting on the web I guess I will have used ALL my quota of air miles & as she is coming over to UK for 9 weeks (mid June, yay :))) then I will have doubled my air miles by allowing & encouraging her to come here. HOWEVER we are spending 10 days up in Scotland & as tempting as the flight deals were to fly to Edinburgh. I resisted the deals as I really dont believe in flying internally/locally, it is NOT quicker cos you have all the hassle of arriving early to check in rather than just jumping on the train, it REALLY IS damaging to the environment. So I checked out Scotrail because if, like me, you are a forward planner, you can buy tickets WAY in advance at great prices. I managed to bag an overnight sleeper "bargain berth" for just ?19 from Euston to Edinburgh & that was for the entire berth NOT each. We then get a coach (yuk) from Edinburgh to Fort William, where we will stay in a luxury cottage, only affordable due to the massive savings made from booking all travel in advance. Then back to London on Scotrail & Virgin trains, again as booked in advance only costing about ?23. So guys & gals it CAN & should be done. Hmmmmmm I feel slightly greener, thanks for letting me rant. Now the weather is improving I shall be putting aside my beloved Otis/125cc Suzuki Marauder mortorbike (not a typo!) & using my lovely aluminium bicycle to get me to & fro work. Cheers GG
  15. :)-D Cool potatoes, I am working lates this week which means 14:30-22:30 but I could do next week. It would be an honour & a pleasure to meet you both. Cheers GG
  16. Ahhhh I am a cuspian gemini/cancer... does that make me a two-faced crab????
  17. Cheers Nikster thats sounds like a cunning plan to me... Hmmmmm as a newbie to ED obviously I have no suggestions other than the Rye Hotel, however I a keen to explore the area as my girlie is coming over from Australia in just under 4 weeks time & it would be good to know a few places to take her for a gay friendly meal or lil drinkie. It would be great to meet up with you & Badger & any other "girlies" in the area. Good idea Nikster Cheers GG
  18. Sean, no worries with the area more the housemates I moved in with, but is all ok now I have been rescued by a friend of a friend at work who is letting me lodge at the greener end of Barry Road (Uplands). He is a very noice man & I'm sure I will be happier here. Cheers GG
  19. :-$ Whatever do you mean James, I'm new to the area & surely wouldn't crack onto a virtual stranger !!! GG
  20. ::o Hi Badger I am new to East Dulwich having just moved a week ago from Nth London so if you want to check out some venues nearby we could meet up for a bit of mutual support maybe? I was living at the top end of Barry Road but unfortunately it didnt work out so have been rescued by a friend of a friend & am now lodging in Uplands Road. We went to the Rye Hotel last night for a meal & the was a good mix in there but my gaydar doesnt work so well these days, since I fell for a lil Australian who is coming to visit me in just over 3 weeks ;-). Well if you fancy a quick half, a chat or a laugh ... just send me a lil ol msg Cheers GG
  21. :-$ Well as I have been finishing packing up my room, pre-move for tomorrow, I have unearthed some curious rectangle mysteries from the past, I believe they were called "tapes/cassettes" with a ribbon of pre-recorded music running through them, anyways I have been delving through those today & have been listening to "Music to Watch Girls By... various artists, Thompson Twins, The Beautiful South & at the moment The Best of Matt Bianco... Well that's me for now, methinks you are all down the pub. Cheers GG
  22. Ohhhhhh goodness I am moving from North London to Barry Road tomorrow & ride a little 125 motorbike, much to the annoyance of boy racers at a few notches JUST below the speed limit. Unfortunately I came off twice in one day back in December after riding through a massive oil spillage just before the roads were closed (Canonbury Rd/Highbury Corner, Islington & then Prescott Rd, Tower Hamlets), I mashed my knee up rather badly & suffered with torn nerves & ligaments, scar tissue damage & a trapped sciatic nerve. Anyways enough of that but just wanted to say if you do see a little black baby-cruiser style motorbike being ridden oh so carefully by a little silver helmeted woman please do NOT sit on my tail & flash or beeb me to try to make me go faster, cos it wont work. I know my safety & comfort zone & I will NOT exceed it for anyone, I am more likely to pull over & let you silly speed demons pass, however DO expect a rude hand gesture from me & a scowl. KEEP THE STREETS SAFE FOR ALL OUR SAKES, DRIVERS, PEDESTRIANS, CYCLISTS & WEE CRITTERS ~ Thanks GG
  23. Awwwwwwwww thanks DM. I am really looking forward to moving into the area (almost all packed) van is coming at 10am tomorrow. I wish I could go to the Dulwich fair on Sunday but I am working 10-6 so not possible. However I will have an explore the following weekend. You all sound like a really noice bunch of peeps so looking forward to chatting & meeting some of you. Cheers GG
  24. Hurrah!!! I will be moving from North London to East Dulwich on Saturday & although I do not know where the Sainsburys is in relation to Barry Road I look forward to exploring my new home & surrounding areas. I am rather partial to the gingerbread thingammy latte & a Rocky Road biscuit :-$ & please someone say hi to me I know I am technically still a Nth Londoner until Saturday but I have posted a few times on here now & not heard a peep back.... :'(
  25. Indeed what a great website & hurrah to Matt for starting off the intros. Well I am currently living in Nth London but will be moving to East Dulwich this weekend (12th May), I work in Southwark (Bermondsey) so am vaguely familiar with the area but just wondered if there are any links for "new to the areas like myself"? I would be grateful for any info on things to do, places to go, where to eat, shop & just hang out. I have a friend coming over from Australia soon for 8 weeks so it would be to be pre-armed with some good local knowledge. As for me, I am 36, work & as you know about to move to East Dulwich, interested in local community safety & enviro issues. I ride a little 125 motorbike, enjoy wide open spaces (especially near water), I have a surfboard with L plates, but enjoy sufring the net too. Look forward to hearing from anyone with local knowledge. Cheers GG
