No doubt there will be a blame game by Brexiters, but not one of them has ever wanted to own Brexit, hence why May was elected as leader. She was their patsy, it was common knowledge that if Brexit went ahead she'd then be kicked out. Looking likely that she may not even get that far...

I reckon she'll use the ticking clock a lot, already has form for that, and is even doing it with her own Cabinet today. Having first seen the WA late last night, a document which by all accounts is 500 pages long, and very, very, detailed, they are expected to give a verdict on it this afternoon. Last December they couldn't even decipher a couple of A4s, which brought about the problematic issue of the Irish backstop. Expect it will go through with little fuss, then it will be interesting to see how May sells it to her party (and some Labour MPs in Leave seats). The obvious line will be the threat of No Deal, but that doesn't cut it with the ERG and DUP, or even Labour rebels like Hoey, who being Brexit ideologues would actually prefer that...

  10. Statements like that don't really bother me at this stage, as there is an argument that to say something like ''there will be a 2nd ref'' would undermine their already tenuous negotiating position. At the moment it all feels like grandstanding at the eleventh hour, who will blink first. The consensus seems that whatever we end up with will get voted down and we'll end up in a full blown constitutional crisis with the clock still ticking. One under-reported event from last week is that the Gov lost an appeal against a case for the CJEU to rule whether the UK can unilaterally withdraw the A50 notice, thereby not needing the approval of all the EU27, as it currently stands. You'd think that would be a nice insurance to have should things get really sticky, but this Gov is trying to appeal again, this time to the Supreme Court, using 5 QC's, more than they used in the Gina Miller case. If it fails the case will be heard before the CJEU at the end of this month. This was one of the reasons why the Gov has been rushing to get a deal done for a Nov summit before then, but that doesn't look like it will happen now. Instead, it will be mid-Dec, which is good news and weakens the Gov's line that the only options are a bad deal or no deal. It also looks like the Gov will have to publish their Brexit legal advice. For a Gov that proposes Gov ''taking back control'', they have a funny way of showing it...

  18. Save your breath joe, throwing a hand grenade and running off is part of the far right play book. Trump does it all the time with the lies and misinformation he Tweets. By the time they get fact checked and countered the Tweets have been seen all around the world and reported on. UG's grenades of course need to be countered, but don't expect a reasoned debate with him about them...

    Tiling

I don't think it matters as you're going over paint, however with new/bare plaster best to wait 24 hours to allow it to be fully absorbed...

    Tiling

You apply the PVA mix wet with a roller or brush, when dry (usually in a hour or so, although best to leave longer this time of year) it should feel slightly tacky, this is what gives the 'bond' for the tile adhesive to stick to. With tiling you are introducing very visible horizontal and vertical lines, so setting-out is critical if you want a professional looking finish. Work out beforehand where tiles will be positioned and how they will line up with features e.g. cabinets, cooker hoods, sockets etc. If you have a strong focal point such as a hob/extract hood, use this as the vertical setting-out point, either centring the tile or the tile joint on the middle of the hob. Don't start with a full tile in a corner, like the worktop it might be out of plumb. Cut tiles work best in corners...

    Tiling

Reseal with watered down PVA, one third water from memory but ratio usually given on the tub. You need to check that the worktop and cupboards are level first. What size of tile are you using?...
