  2. Yep, and it might be useful in the future if someone has a similar problem and uses the search facility...
  3. Thanks, I know what CVs are for, i.e. they're not just for presenting grades. Whether an applicant is invited to an interview or not will depend on a lot more than whether Johnny's 2 is or isn't equivalent to Sally's A...
  4. This is a good analysis of the papers released so far... So much for cutting back on EU bureaucracy. At least with No. 9 we can join in the w*nkers that voted for it...
  5. Agree that it will become less of an issue re. comparisons. The majority of University intakes tend to be from the same age group, although there will be those taking gap years and mature students. Employers could be confused initially, but surely that's what interviews are for...
  6. This is supposed to be preparing for No Deal. Even the S*n picked up on the lunacy that the Gov's No Deal planning would require deals to be done beforehand re. passporting to protect UK business and pensioners living in the EU. Raab's response was that it was in the EU's interest to do a deal for their citizens in the UK. But Dominic old bean, the whole point of this exercise is to plan for deals like that not being agreed. David Davis 2.0: The incompetency continues. At least with DD we got a ''What the fook am I doing?'' grin instead of Raab's sweatfest...
  7. The new grades have come about because of so many students getting As...https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-44125336 Serves them right for being so swotty...:)

  9. db, if you don't get any takers you could try Shipley, they will deliver/collect items and charge for the van space taken up rather than the van as a whole. Your item will be one of several making their way to London from the Cardiff/Wales area... https://www.shiply.com/
  10. Week 2 points... Week 2 table... I feel a name change coming on...

  15. It's all in the wording. From what you say they contain a natural ingredient i.e. the carrier oil, but as they didn't say the ingredients are 100% natural, I don't think you have a case...

  17. Funny you should say that, in my spare time I also like to collect ornamental owls!...
  18. Trumpy reminds me of Biff in Back to the Future 2, holed up in his tower throwing hissy fits. Where's our Marty McFly to save the day? Was looking for an appropriate image, seems like it's true!...:) https://www.theguardian.com/film/2015/oct/23/back-to-the-future-writer-bad-guy-biff-was-based-on-donald-trump
  19. Funny you should say that, I've been spending my spare time stockpiling Spam and other non-perishables. Those Breixiters won't catch me out...

  21. If gammon was a term exclusively thrown about by non-white people at white people, then you could class it as a racist term, but it's not. Apparently it's a descriptive term originally used by Dickens. Today it's mainly white Remainers using it as a derogatory term against white Brexiters losing their shit. Snowflake is a similar put-down used by Brexiters. Ironic how snowflakey Brexiters have become with the use of gammon. The problem I have with Johnson's article is that there was just no reason to say what he did about letterboxes and bank robbers. He main point was that the burka etc shouldn't be banned, which should be applauded. So why did he feel the need to say something 'jokey' that came right out of a '70's sitcom? It wasn't an off-the-cuff remark, this was something that he deliberately wrote down, presumably that was proof-read, edited etc. Despite the bumbling buffoon persona, he's anything but, journalism was his trade, albeit not a very good one. So one can only assume that this was a deliberate attempt to push the boundaries, see what he can get away with and appeal to a certain Tory grassroots demographic as part of his leadership bid. Fine, but not when it has consequences for ordinary Muslim women going about their daily lives, who will now have more Islamophobic threats and insults thrown at them. Johnson is a complete and utter coont for promoting that, and deserves to be called out for it...

Gammon aren't ''right leaning'' though, they're much further to the right in the spectrum. That was my point...
