  1. He's going for the statue outside Parliament instead.. :)
  2. Wow, he has ruled about another vote on the same deal, needs to be a substantial change. Think I'm gonna break into that popcorn I stockpiled...:)
  3. John Bercow, the Common speaker, is making a surprise statement to MPs. He says there has been much speculation about another meaningful vote. On 13 March Angela Eagle, the Labour MP, asked if it would be proper for the government to keep putting the same motion to a vote. He says MPs from both sides of the House, and from both sides of the argument, have expressed their concerns to him their concerns about MPs voting on the same thing over and over again. Erskine May, the parliamentary rulebook, says an issue that has been decided in substance cannot be brought back to the Commons. As much as I'd like there to be no more meaningful votes, if Bercow prevented one via Erskine May, it would give Brexiters ammo to say it was a Remainer conspiracy etc, and we'd never hear the last of it. Then again, fook it, I'm past caring about Brexiters and their blame gaming...:)

  5. Week 27 points... Week 27 table...

I think they've been around a while (I made an oblique reference to them a couple of months ago... /forum/read.php?20,1833347,1999858#msg-1999858), the 'epic march' stunts have been very good, especially the one where Farage is on the bus...
  7. Yes tedddyboy, I was asked to stand there to stop them walking off the cliff edge...
  8. 'Epic march' update. The march has had to take a 5-mile detour because a bridge on the original route closes on Sundays. Poor loves, it's not like Brexiters to come up with an idea then not have a plan to carry it out...
  9. Well done Cowboy, the perfect last round surge. Thanks to Meds for organising, see you all at the World Cup...
  10. So it's Day 2 of the 'epic march', with reports saying the numbers are now in the 70's...including press. Meanwhile, Nige's trotters must be playing up after walking all those hundreds of feet yesterday, as he's nowhere to be seen...#swillofthepeople
  11. More of Nige's ''epic protest march''...
  12. keano77 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > You couldn?t make it up Actually, Brexiters did, and continue to do so. Meanwhile, they march, all 200 of them...
  13. Does anyone know what the logic was in holding the march after the EU summit? I realise that the march had to be booked in advance, but the EU summits are known in advance too, and it was always felt that next week's summit could be a biggie for May in trying to squeeze something out of the EU. Marches are all about getting seen and being heard, so to hold the march before the summit surely would've made more sense than after...

  16. True, but as Benn said yesterday, they will have another chance if May's deal is voted down again next Mon/Tues. Winning the Benn amendment wouldn't have made any difference in that respect as it would've kicked in on Wed. In fact there's a good argument that not winning the Benn amendment was a blessing in disguise, as had it won it could've spooked the ERG May's deal refusniks ahead of MV3. It's all about timings now, I also think Labour did the right thing not backing the 2nd Ref amendment yesterday...
  17. Why do you say that John?...
  18. Indeed, with all the focus pre-MV2 on the Backstop, that seems to have been lost. May's deal puts us over a negotiating barrel, if Brexiters think the EU have been tough up until now, they ain't seen nothing yet...
  19. Banks/Wigmore's shenanigans enabling A50 to be revoked...oh the irony.
  20. I wish politicians and pundits alike would stop saying that today's big vote, if won, would take No Deal off the table. It won't. It would confirm that there's a majority that don't want ND, but legally it's still there. The only way to remove the threat of ND is either to agree a WA or Revoke A50. An extension to A50 would merely move the legal default of ND from one date to another...

  22. It's only difficult leaving the EU with a deal if you barricade your negotiating position with red lines that are at odds with the EU's 4 freedoms...
  23. The EU moves in mysterious ways...:)
  24. Jah has finally made it to top spot. Week 26 points... Week 26 table...
  25. I see you didn't also cite the 60's Sue, what is it they say about that decade, if you can remember the 60's you weren't really there... :)
