So long as I don't get > lamped in the airport... Well I do believe that is the sweetest thing you have ever said to me. Good Heavens, this Forum is truly miraculous...Huguenot sweet, Ladymuck punctual...can it last I wonder? However, whilst I completely understand that you simply cannot wait to see me (*massive grin*), I would remind you that this will not be until December...have you not been paying attention? Hmmmm, clearly some work needed there...anyone care to kick Huguenot's backside? Duly admonished snakeoil peddlers? Reprimanded fiskers? Castigated confidence tricksters? HAL9000? :)) As for "lamping" you at the airport, I guess that eventuality will depend on your conduct between now and then, though I might just clout you for past misdeeds depending on my level of longhaul flight grumpiness... *fights to maintain poker face*
  9. Thirded. Fabulous venue. Scott - just a minor constructive comment: the bar staff didn't know about flaming sambuca...
  10. And you were early! Lovely to see you BTW - you looked fabulous.

  12. @ Huguenot, Well! Since your rather ungracious kicking of my backside at the beginning of the week, you will be pleased to learn that I have been on time (and, on a couple of occasions, early) for every appointment this week. As this is probably the first time in my life that this has happened, I really ought to thank you for being so instrumental in helping me to mend my selfish ways. But I aint going to, coz you iz a pain in the bum innit! Well, OK, maybe just a little thank you: thanks. Incidentally, Lord Muck is incredibly indebted to you! Gave me a lecture earlier today on how for years he has been nagging me about my persistent lateness only for a "stranger off the Forum" to finally get through to me...yada yada yada...

*bangs frantically on Admin's door panic-stricken* The search facility has stopped working again. (Not a complaint...just...*screams*...). Thanks in advance xx
  15. You are stuck on an Alp Narnia? Is that what is preventing you from rescuing me from the clutches of JDGodzillaQueen?... And there was I thinking you were just being a grumpy old so and so... I hope fleabag reaches you quickly (and in time). x-o-x-o
  16. That is BRILLIANT jamesb. Big Kiss X
  17. ...in fact, for those who don't actually possess a fanny, it makes for a rather decent substitute silverfox.
  18. No no..."tickle your fanny" was quite deliberate...but "tickle your fancy" will do just as nicely.
  19. ...some posters - for various reasons - will avoid the Forum pet dog's posts (I am, of course, talking about W**F's). Fair enough, each to their own, chacun a sont gout, whatever tickles your fanny, whatever floats your boat and all that. He (it?) is not everyone's cup of tea (who is? - though, personally, I think he is hilarious). May I just say to those of you to whom this applies that, if there is one (just one) W**F thread which you should look at, it is W**F's Lottery thread. Far from being one of the mad dog's pranks, this is a serious thread for charity: in aid of The Pakistan Flood Appeal (via Oxfam) and St. Christopher's Hospice. All you have to do is to pick a number (or two) between 1 and 3,740 (I know, I know!) and consider making a donation. There are real prizes involved (which the clever fleabag of a dog has managed to extract from local businesses). Examples of such prizes include: - Franklins: lunch for two (Mon - Fri) - The Herne: lunch or dinner for two - The Blue Mountain: dinner for two (Mon - Fri) - William Rose: 2 x ?15.00 Gift Vouchers - The Meat Wagon: 2 prizes. Casual dinning for two (this Sunday or Friday nights) - Alhambra in Sydenham: afternoon tea & cakes for x 4 people or a tapas lunch for x 2 - Pie in the Sky: 2 x Pies & 2 x juicy sausage rolls eat in/or take away - Green & Blue: a lovely bottle of Champagne. ---------------------------------------------------------------- I should just add that the flea-ridden dog will be getting nothing out of the lottery draw himself (well, only immense satisfaction derived from undertaking a truly altruistic task) as he has exempted himself from the Draw. That's all I wanted to say. Apologies if any offence has been caused - none is intended. I just wanted to draw your attention to W**F's work (and he has worked tirelessly on this).
  20. *looks at watch and thinks...hmmmm...tis a bit early for the Stella* Are you drinking out of a glass or a polywotsit Quids?
  21. *waves to Quids*
  22. Huguenot Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I wonder if the British people would be willing to > make that sacrifice in order to save so much of > their own money? Excuse me for being a bit dim here, but what sacrifice are you referring to? If you are simply talking about accepting the switch from glass to Polywotsit, I don't believe I would feel much deprivation given the potential benefits. At football matches we are issued with those horribly thin, flexible plastic cups which - when grasped remotely tightly - can result in some of your drink overflowing onto your lap. But one copes...it certainly doesn't put me off going to matches and ordering my favourite tipple. Oooooh no...
  23. Yay! Me for Ken! (I just cannot take Boris seriously...though he does make me laugh)
  24. Thanks for providing the link DJKQ.
  25. I am attempting to post the link for BBC iplayer Unequal Opportunities With John Humphrys, but seem unable to do this (message coming up with "install Adobe Flash Player"). I don't suppose someone else could do it please? It might be helpful for those who missed the programme/didn't record it, but wouldn't mind now viewing it?
