I declined their services for the same reason SS...ended up spending almost ?1,000 on security (the bulk of that being on a solid steel door):-S. Still, that was when I was living in Herne Hill...so far so good in ED. I too hope they catch them james84.

Didn't see giggirl's post as I took a call inbetween typing previous post and actually sending it. But I agree with the equally wise(ish) GG's last para. too.

Come along and make yourself known - I'll buy you a drink for sure. Come to think of it, I believe I owe SMG and Mrs SMG one too, and SteveT and... PS: re burglaries...we were burgled 5 times within a 12-year period (always in the day whilst out at work), although very distressing at the time we got over it by improving on security. Now we have an alarm, a London Bar, 2 mortice locks, chain, spy-hole, and a steel coated door! Haven't been burgled in about 13 years now (*touches head*). Also, make sure you get on with your neighbours - good neighbours are invaluable when you are away from home (and, of course, you return the favour when they go away). Hope to see you. *goes to cashpoint*
  9. I cannot be bothered to read the whole thread either... does anyone know when the pool be ready please?
  10. Any constitutional law lawyers out there? I would like to know how to overthrow this Queen! Maybe I should post this in the wanted section...
  11. Gordon Bennett - don't you think I'm in enough trouble?!!!

  13. Because you write slowly - surely Timster. (As opposed to being a slow writer!);-)
  14. Well thank goodness for that...

I'll keep a look out James. It's awful when something like this happens...that someone has felt that it is quite in order to enter your space and help themselves. I hope you were (at least) insured and that you get over the shock quickly.
  18. Oh I see - yes, yes, sorry...I got wrong end of stick...(as usual)
  19. SeanMacGabhann Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Back at the start of the thread it did seem > unusual enough for people to want to know more... Surely you meant "usual"?
  20. X-posted with Keef.
  21. Well, to be honest Sean, when I started this thread I was unsure about my own reaction to the letter and so I did what I so often do when I am unsure about something - I seek the opinion of others. In this instance, the views of other forumites. Well...
  22. Teenage spot my backside! xx

I am not so sure that they do "think that this is OK" Mick Mac. Given the way the thread has escalated (I never saw that coming:-S), they might be hesitant about voicing their opinion. Certainly, several neighbours have expressed their disatisfaction to me about this point, whilst also stating that they have no intention of publicising that disatisfaction.
