Less than ten years ago, one could just ring the surgery on the day in the morning to hopefully get an appointment for that day or the following day. It was also possible to book into the future for appts with Graham, the osteopath or with Dr. Johnson who did the dry needling acupuncture. Same with nurse appts. It all changed during Covid, the surgery moved into the new premises and morphed into Tessa Jowell and never returned to how it was.

According to the NV website, they have a total of 19 veterinary surgeons across their three practices. This includes Suzanne, who is one of the co-founders.

Which is the best curry restaurant on Lordship Lane?
Froglander replied to bh28's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
For delivery, tried Khan’s a couple of weeks ago. They offer a discount if you spend £25 or more. I only ordered vegetarian food. Complimentary poppadoms were provided but don’t know if that it is normal as it was my first order. The tarka dal was very good. The portions are large but they are more expensive. The order came in under the 60 minutes that was promised. I thought the naan that was ordered was very average, like they’d been hanging around for a few hours. Some restaurants are better at baking than others. I would try them again to see what the other vegetarian dishes are like, such as the pumpkin ones. Andy P, what are your favourite dishes there? I did have an aubergine, tomatoand potato one which was good. -

Oh, when was he laid off? I know he used to be a nurse but I thought he was a self employed osteopath. -

I just noticed that you wrote that you could book appointments in advance at your surgery! I wonder how many other Southwark GPs allow that because TJ certainly doesn’t. Are the District Nurses you are referring to based at the Lister surgery? I was told that there are some there. Or are the ones that visit your husband specific to patients with Parkinson’s disease? -

Melbourne Grove, now Tessa Jowell, used to have a lovely osteopath called Graham. He moved to Deal and commuted for a while but think he is fully based there now. I’ve no idea if there is an osteopath based at TJ.. Dr. Stephen Johnson, now retired, used to offer dry needling (a type of acupuncture) at Melbourne Grove. Melbourne Grive also had a minor surgery facility but I’ve no idea if that now exists at Tessa Jowell. -

Thank you, they appear to have a wide catchment area and my address is in it but it’s quite far to walk to. -

Which surgery are you with? -
It’s a cockatoo, not a cockatiel.

Are there any updates on this? -
I don’t know many/any details but I know it’s been discussed on this Forum but just not on this particular thread. This thread started in 2011. I know there are/were other threads regarding this area and I’m quite sure I posted on one. You could ask Admin.

Aren’t there building plans for flats in that area? Also, is Greendale Playing Fields staying as it is? I thought there were also plans for there.

Do the women who started NV still work there? They expanded quite rapidly. They have branches in Penge and Crofton Park. That £40 price for a prescription is/was shocking. I wouldn’t use a place that forced your animal to have completely unnecessary vaccinations. Better to have your pet looked after in their own home (especially cats) or in someone else’s home they are comfortable with.

I used to like going there on my way back from town. Very sorry to hear it’s closing.

Can you just queue up to withdraw cash or are other transactions like stamp purchasing required? Do M&S do cash back? -

Does this info come via local vets? It would be good if one of them would make a post and contact LB Southwark about this. Do you know any details of the poison?
