Hi, Same as midivydale, Was induced and refused the drip until l had an epidural. Just that l had to wait 3 hours for the anaethetist. The midwifes suggested to put me on the drip first and i could still have the epidural. I am so glad l said no to this. But when epidural was done and re-adjusted (was working only on one side at the beginning) Everything was fine. Easy, smooth, painfree and no intervention needed.

Stair gate to borrow in exchange for a bottle of wine...
enjoy replied to MrsAk's topic in The Family Room Discussion
You can borrow mine for the weekend. Pm me for details. -
My son (now 8) was allowed for the first time to sleep in the the top bed. My daughter sleeps on the top since she's been three. I think it very much depends on their sleeping style. My son is doing all sorts of things when he sleeps so he is not allowed up there in general.

Should i MMR vaccinate my child?
enjoy replied to EastDulwichRose's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Maybe it is more than a personal decision: There is a debate about it in germany right now. the question should be more: how to vaccinate raher than if. http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-31585047 -
Recommendations for a good osteopath for little one
enjoy replied to JoRoFoMo's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I can second the OCC! Lovely people who helped my son a lot (throwing up milk, only turning to one side) Didn't take long to get him better and financially it was easier for me, as they worked on donation basis. -
Bavaria is beautiful in summer. Munich is always worth a trip, the lakes around it like the Starnberger See easy accessible and stunning. I liked the Schliersee a lot. Accommodation should be easy to find and much cheaper than UK. googled this one for you ;-) http://www.ehard-hof.de/ And the food down there!!! Plenty and yummy! And if you have kids above toddler age I would highly recomment a day! here: Therme Erding You should also compare prices for plane and car hire, Salzburg/Munich It is only 2 hours drive and sometimes the prices are very different. Worth checking. Anyway, it is a great destination and hugely underrated.

Judith Kerr Primary School - Feedback and Random allocation
enjoy replied to Susan's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Zamboo, what do you mean , the school is not bilingual? I always had an eye on the school ans l thought it would be a great option to incorporate the two languages. But l could never figure out how that was done in reality. I always like the 'old' head mistress, how s the new one? The staff seemed very young but lovely, have some of them left? I wish the school well, they are still on my list as an option. -
Sorry, typing on my phone is not my greatest joy, so l make it short. I am a rosemead parent, former herne hill parent. When l' e sent my kid to rosemeD years ago, l really disliked the school. Now she he left successfully l can truly say, it was a good choice. Lots of things l didn't like were facilities, tiny playground... But facilities have improved, playground never bothered the kids, they felt secure at school, made good friends, teachers were good. The 'new' head improved the school in many areas, the kids left with amazing results after year 6. And compared to HH it felt less stressful as they have exams in y6 and not y2. BIG difference. I hope that helps.

Which "budget" holiday is actually cheapest?
enjoy replied to Otta's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Why don't you try one of the youth hostels. Often great locations, cheap with self catering and more comfortable than camping. Some have little huts you can sleep in (check Lewes YHA for that) that would make your stay even cheaper. -
Mustard, I agree with you. But the store is great to get an overview about possible pets and if you find somebody with knowledge, you get good advice too And not only the pets: food, cage, toys = costs as well.

Have a look at pets at home in catford, they are very helpful there and gi e good advice. I'd go for a pair of Degu. Very active and beautiful.

I went to corsica 20 years ago. And I stayed for 6! weeks! Most beautiful island, very diverse scenery, wonderful mountains, little villages,../ everything you could wish for. It is great for hiking, that's for sure. enjoy!!

We have done it and the kids just love it. Especially the freedom to roam around. Usually there a re other kids too. It is completely informal (means they feel they don't need to behave ;-) We went to the South Downs too. Great facilities, good self catering area and top-notch breakfast in the restaurant. The only thing - ask for a room with window. We had one with just a light well, that felt a bit like a prison cell, but all the other rooms were good. I can also recommend Holmbury St Mary's, near Dorking. The hostel is old but cosy and the location in the middle of the forest is just fantastic. The outside area was great for the kids, beautiful forest for walks and no nearby road - heaven! The standard is obviously not like a hotel or BnB, but that's not expected anyway. My family loves it!!

Hi everyone, every year I am making a wreath for advent. This year it seems to be extra early, has anybody seen places, where they sell xmas trees and I could get some cut offs. I guess sale will start this weekend, but that doesn't fit my own time frame. Any ideas where I could go NOW?

Hi all, Went into town and bought clip on lense for iphone (frog eye), bunny splitter and cord wrap. For the boy a voice changer. I nearly bought black nail varnish. Silly gimmicks, l know, but l hope it will do the trick. Thanks for the suggestions.

Thanks for all the ideas so far. I think london tshirt or so could work for the girl. Does anybody know where to buy minecraft stuff like hangers (key rings) or figures? Hamley's l guess. Any other shops close by?

Hi everyone, I know it is a bit boring and repetitive but l am really stuck. I have nephews in Switzerland (german), girl 14y and a boy 12y. What can l give them for xmas. Needs to be not language related (so no books), and not to heavy otherwise posting gets too expensive. Last year I bought a case for her iphone (could repeat that). But the boy is obviously not into Lego anymore and hasn't got a phone yet. ANY ideas???

Brockwell Park Fireworks Display
enjoy replied to Eliza dolittle's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I don't mind paying a reasonable price and it was free for the kids. But surprisingly it was far more crowded than in the years before. Our overall experience wasn't great, it felt like waiting for the fireworks for an hour (last entry 7.30) and it was just not a family event anymore. Bit the lord of lightening and the fireworks were great! -
