Sorry I know it's off topic but what's wrong with defrosting chicken in hot water? I do it quite often and want to check I'm not going to accidentally kill anyone. Nigee really has me flumoxed.
  3. True, if it had been the Beeney gord knows what would have happened.
  4. Now i'm sure you're joking!
  5. i've decided the answer is yes
  6. is that a joke?
  7. I know it's not East Dulwich at all but I just walked past Kirstie Allsop filming in Marylebone and I nearly wet myself with excitement.
  8. Sorry me again Barry. I'm sure most people know, but I don't. If there is no means of buying a ticket i.e. no cashier, working machine or permit machine, what is the official stance? If I was travelling to charing cross would I have to go to the no ticket desk at london bridge or could I go to the no ticket desk at Charing Cross? Thanks in advance. sophiesofa Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I second what OutOfFocus has asked. 9. Definitely a cheapy nokia - they have the simplest user interface and good battery etc.
  10. Anti clockwise then clockwise then bit of both but now just clockwise for ages. This is messing with my brain. I've dragged the .gif onto my desktop and the order of the frames in preview is clockwise.
  11. I went to sainsburys on the plastic bag free day with 4 re-used plastic bags and I didn't feel bad at all. I think the holier than thou thing is a bit paranoid, but that's just my opinion.
  12. But people already re-use the plastic ones, but there's only a limited re-use value to them ie they break. Since the cloth ones have become 'fashionable' in the last few years plastic bag creation has decreased. Nobody is suggesting that we just throw away all the existing plastc bags.
  13. plastic bags simply don't last as long though.
  14. Coca cola are so inappapropriate to be involved in peace one day. killercoke
  15. My boyfriends mum was a traffic warden for a few months. Dealing with abuse all day long is just horrible, they're only human. Not that I'm saying anyone on here has been rude to them.
  16. Oh good grief that scares me. I think i'm a bit pathetic though!
  17. Do foxes try and get in houses at night? Last night I was woken up by what sounded like a fox fight trying to jump through my bedroom window. I couldn't tell if it was just one foz screaming and scraping at the glass or two but I hid under the duvet for a few minutes until it was over. Then I got it into my head that it would have gotten through the bathroom window so I agaain hid under the duvet for a while. So do foxes ever try to get inside or was it just a one off window attack? Thanks
  18. I didn't buy small bin bags before but now I sometimes do, carrier bags are the perfect size for bedroom, office and bathroom bins. I must get into the habit of carrying around a cloth bag! What really peeves me off is marks and spencers. They seem to always try and give you a small bag if you buy just a sndwich. Surely with they're 5p bigger bag policy that they say is for the ennvironment they shouldn't so willingly try and force a small bag on you, I have to request that they take my sarnie out of the bag again. They always seem so shocked and sometimes so, no it's alright they're free. Then there are the M&S shoppers who refuse to pay the 5p and insist instead that they be given a couple of the smaller bags.
  19. I second what OutOfFocus has asked. My boyfriend had the same issue on sunday at East Dulwich. Because we weren't sure if Charing Cross would say we should have queued at London Bridge to get a ticket so in the end he went to the shop accross the road and got a travel card that he didn't really need. It is annoying when you leave early to make sure you have time to queue for a ticket and then there's no means of getting one and no clear instructions on what to do if you can't buy a ticket. Is there definitely no room anywhere to squeeze another ticket machine in? Thanks in advance Barry.
  20. ditto whateveryone else said.
  21. What did you expect then? Free champagne and slippers on arrival? "because in 99% of cases, it?s not" is simply not true or do you have some facts and figures?
  22. I didn't go J McN but that seems a bit harsh! It's a local fete to raise money, organised by volunteers so of course it's not going to be on the same scale as say the Ben and Jerrys festival and nor should it be.
  23. Me as a pedestrian can't stand the bendy buses because they are always blocking box junctions and I don't enjoy risking my life to cross the road. Me as a passenger quite likes them but it really annoys me when you see people jump on for one or two stops who blatently don't have a ticket. What's this about a single decker routemaster? Does anyone know if the routemsaters will have conductors?
