  1. Burglaries I can understand, but muggings I don't see why they would bother when they're are areas within camberwell and peckham that would be just as good for mugging someone. I'm not saying that all muggings are committed by east dulwich only residents but I think some are but I also have no facts and am also just speculating. There are bad apples everywhere not just in peckham and camberwell.
  2. It just sounds like wild speculation to me sorry panama.
  3. I don't think muggers commute to dulwich just to mug people. Facts please.
  4. To be fair though he did say ring the police if they were acting suspiciously not just because they're wearing hoodies. What evidence is there that people don't report being mugged? If I was mugged I'd certainly call the police and I think most people do/would.
  5. I don''t think the official advice would be to "resist as long as you are not harmed". Give it up, it's just not worth it, although I don't think you can plan how you'd react to such things. I don't think ED is getting less safe, crime has peaks and troughs and it's nearing christmas, we're in recession and it's getting darker which must all be factors.
  6. If you're talking about JBarber I don't think he's been on his thread lately so maybe he's on holiday or something. Sorry about the three cellars and I hope they get sorted soon.
  7. I think your brother needs to know because if he ever found out some other way it could create a huge family rift. Also you will be able to support each other because it must be a huge thing to go through and even more so with the secrecy element making you feel guilty. PGC is right though, it's probably best to speak to an organisation who can offer advice. Best of luck with whatever you decide.
  8. Not many houses (especially the ones converted into flats) don't have room for 2 wheelie bins, even the smaller version ones. I think the blue box system is quite good, but even they take up too much space.
  9. Ooh camilla has left the show.
  10. Thanks Barry!
  11. Ian you always seem sooo happy on here - it's impressive.
  12. Hello Barry. The no feet on seats thing has made me think if it's possible to make some announcements when a train pulls in to a packed platform for an announcement to be made requesting people wait until everyone gets off. I got the 6.07pm from LB and was at the front waiting for the last man (who wasn't too stable) to get off when people started stampeding around me to get on while he was still on the train. I did feebly say that someone was still getting off but they mainly ignored me. I think it's sad that I'm even having to request this because it just shouldn't happen but sadly it's a common occurrence and it's really really rude and unnecessary. Thank you
  13. I'd ring child protection services (if that's what they're called) I know it sounds a bit extreme but far better to er on the side of caution with things as important as child safety. I think (although I don't know) a health visitor would be obliged to inform the police or child protection if it was reported to them anyway.
  14. mine smells of cheese
  15. Yey to pay-as-you-go - can't wait!
  16. no but they think they have phat cocks though
  17. Men who sit on the train with their legs at a 100+ degree angle presumably because they think their cocks need that much space. Where are my legs meant to go?! Excessive sighing when the tube is delayed.

  19. My worry is that a so called 'fat' person would read this and feel like shit as a result.
  20. I'm going to be the annoying one and say this thread is probably really upsetting some people. Sorry!
  21. I don't have a car and therefore love dulwich diy and the one opposite the plough. When I did get 2 buses each way to B&Q to get some fire paint for my fireplace I asked 3 separate employees and got the following responses 1) "It doesn't exist, just use emulsion" 2) "Think we used to do it but don't anymore. Just use black gloss" 3) "Never heard of it so it can't exist". Next day popped to Dulwich DIY for something else and spotted 3 different types of fire paint and have since seen it in the one opposite the plough. For some things they are more expensive but others can be cheaper and it's amazing how much stuff they can ram into their shops.
  22. I'm not going to give that away, that's for you to find out for yourself
  23. Thank goodness for the BT man and I'm glad you're ok. I hope you reported it.
  24. Wow I've just realise Charliecharlie was one of my tutors at uni! Sorry that makes her sound old but she's not. Hi CC. She is one sexy lady in real life as well as in the photo so all you suitable men form an orderly queue.
  25. I'm not a child, parent or grandparent but I'm going to go anyway - i love christmas. Thanks monica
