Never exercised before and need advice...
sophiesofa replied to ThePrincessBride's topic in The Lounge
Well done for getting started. 3 weeks isn't that long so I wouldn't worry about not being able to jog yet. Have you tried increasing the lengths of your walks or incoprporating hills into your route? Also try speeding up your walking and if you get puffed out slow down for a bit. I have no idea why I'm giving advice I'm incredibly unfit (although planning on changing that soon). Good luck and don't feel disheartened it sounds like you're doing really well and these things just take time. -
Oh yes I was trying to work out who he looked like!

Good idea, have a lovely break.

Latest news on the Save the South London Line Campaign

> I do hope people living all over London are > sensible enough to realise that there are other > travel maps available apart from the tube map! > People living here seem to have worked out how to > use National Rail quite nicely. I don't think that's completely true. I think south Londoners understand the trains for the area but a lot of my friends live in north London and are always reluctant to come down south because it's "such a hassle getting south". It's not until they actually do it or I explain that they realise otherwise. -
Kiss and make-up please

Clothes, particularly vintage ones do well. I don't think bog standerd say a worn plain top from new look would do well, so probably not worth it but anything with a label or vintage usually does well. Good luck.

I use ebay ocassionally when I have a clear out and it's a hassle but some things go for way more than you'd expect and others that you think will do well sell for 99p. Also always post it in some form of recorded delivery otherwise the buyer (happenmed to me for a ?60 item!) can just pretend it didn't turn up and get the money back and keep the item. Good photos are important too.

Good grief I had no idea that much was being cut! Ridiculous -
Good Lord what a vile/sick man

There is no mention of a weapon or anything and if no-one else had joined in the chase she would probably have just given up. There probably weren't planning on wrestling him to the ground or anything.

Well that's even more angering if they've accepted him purely to make a point! How his new wife could ever enter into a relationship with him then presumably sleep with him knowing he is a paedophile is completely beyond me. I know people change but you can never forget the past completley.

I think he should be sentenced otherwise it's a sign to other criminals/potential criminals that sometimes you can get away with it. How he has been accepted back into society baffles and angers me.

If I married I would want a pre-nup to protect myself. I'm quite a realistic person and I know the statistics so naturally I would want to proetcet myself. My boyfriend and I have separate accounts and a joint account for the mortgage and bills etc. I requested when we bought our flat that the solicitor write one of those documents (don't know the name) that states exactly how much we both paid (I paid a bit more) so I know if we do split up then everything will be fair. Obviously it's a lot more complicated with children but there is no way my boyfiends wage would support a family so I'd be at work also, probably earning more than him. All circumstances are different but I think it's sensible to protect yourself and the other person with a fair agreement.

I think child benefit should stop after the 2nd or 3rd child - no-one needs more than three and I don't want to have to pay for the child greedy! Although I think there would need to be a provision for people who have twins, triplets etc. because that isn't planned choice. How do child benefit payments work these days? Does it automatically go into a bank account or do some people (who don't need it) just never collect it from the post office?

that is very funnily and exactly right!

Mean people outside The Castle - what to do?

Mean people outside The Castle - what to do?

Yes I think i did go off topic there because the ones outside the castle do just sound like drunk tossers. I think another society might go to the other extreme where everyone thinks it is acceptable, the norm even. I think we're somewhere in the middle when it's just tollerated and frowned upon. -
Leaglebeagle I have kidney stones and had kidney surgery and I tell no lie I drink a minimum of 3 litres of water a day, more in the summer mainly due to fear of more kindey issues! As a result I have spent many an hour searching for toilets when out and about so can sympathise with comutedshorty. 99% of it comes from a tap - far cheaper and nearly as yummy.

The way i see it is it must be as successful as email phishing scams. Very rarely it must work so they go for the quantity rather than quality approach by just shouting. The other day I was walking along Barry Road and some man said "pretty lady come for a ride with me' and I obviously ignored him but I saw him later do the same to a girl of school age and she stopped and had a brief discussion with him. I would just like to point out that I was distance away and did watch to see that she left and didn't get in his car! My point is that very rarely they must succeed. Also when they're in a gang it's just showing off to their tosser mates. -
What do you when you see a spider in your sights?
sophiesofa replied to matthew123's topic in The Lounge
If it's in the living room I would lift my feet up. If it was in my bedroom I wouldn't be able to sleep because I'd think it would crawl in my ear so I would squash it. -

LibraCarr's suggestion is great. I just tried to find an email address for them to see if you could just email a link to this thread but I couldn't find one but if you google the castle dulwich this thread is around the 4th one down so hopefully the owner will want to get things sorted soon. I had a similar problem where I last lived where there was a building site on my route to my house and when it's everyday it really grates on you and for a year I had to walk the long way round to avoid them. Hop it gets sorted soon.
