  1. Ravaged! Depressing! Terrible! Classic stuff. Straight out the Daily Mail! The individuals problem's are about a lot more than a tame music festival happening 2 days out of 365 with a finishing time of 10pm, they are with the world and life itself. Whilst quite sad, it is also a source of amusement.
  2. ah you see, some people these days think they are entitled to all the pleasures of rural countryside living, yet still choose to live in one of the worlds major cities at the same time, then complain they are not getting the best of both worlds. See also, Gala Festival.
  3. Its pretty hard to cause deliberate damage to a boiler, unless you take a hammer to it, so tell your landlord to get stuffed- they are responsible for repairs and if necessary replacement of a boiler that develops a fault. Also, make sure you find somewhere else to live once the contract is up, as it sounds to me that a landlord even trying to make tenants pay for a faulty boiler is shady, illegal business and you wont want him as your landlord in future anyway.
  4. you do realise that they arent going to be reading your post, right? Is this some weird kind of public self congratulation? Perhaps if you were so outraged you could have grabbed one by the scruff of the neck rather than scuttle off and sneer on a forum about parenting skills and "whiny cockney accents".
  5. Dont do anything rash or silly such as running to the Police.
  6. Those moaning would actually find themselves to be worse off if there wasn't a festival on their doorstep, because it would mean that this time next year, they will have to find something else to moan about instead. Perhaps emergency services sirens will be next on the moan list. I mean, how dare every once in a while a loud noise occur near where i live in a busy metropolis, its noise torture i tell you!
  7. really? i looked through yesterday and it was little more than an empty room with rubble and other debris stacked up against the walls. No sign of anyone in there at 17:45. If thats progress, the place must have been a bombsite before.
  8. No doubt the cheaper mass produced varieties would have been just as pricey! The main beer supplier was Fullers, who arent exactly local independent craft beer brewers. they are a very large, mass producing brewery owned by a behemouth Japanese company (Asahi) that controls large amounts of the worlds beer.
  9. If i had to have a small criticism it would be ?5 for a small can of beer, and the unnecessary pat down on entry. But both these things were of no surprise.
  10. Went yesterday and saw a diverse spectrum of South East London coming together and having a great time. No attitude, trouble or bad vibes. Events like this should be embraced and supported, i actually feel sorry for people who disagree on the basis that there was a bit of noise coming from a music festival. Get over it!
  11. This Louisa harps on about a pizza place, where a pizza is under ?10, being part of the problem of "wealthy foodies" flooding LL. Then she suggests it should be a Mexican or Moroccan instead (because that is her personal gourmet preference probably) which would cost easily double the amount of money for a meal. Pretty woeful analysis right there! Also, please enlighten me on healthy Mexican cuisine. The Mexican cuisine served up in the U.K is invariably big piles of calorie laden meat, cheese and creamy sauces. Not too dissimilar to those "awful" and "inedible" pizzas.
  12. i noticed this the other day as there was a sign in the window asking for staff. its meant to be a quite good (small) chain. Be nice to have some competition to Franco Manca.
  13. I havent seen it yet, but i bet the fenced off area is relatively small, and there will still be plenty of room to walk your dog, play with your kids, or chill on the grass. The park is not closed to local residents, a bit of it is being used for a festival for a week or so, nothing to see here.
  14. How peculiar that one could live in a city such as London, with its multiple airports, and complain about aircraft noise. Perhaps a move to a more rural area may be best, but then of course, you'd need to be careful not to move close to any churches, lest the bells which have rung for hundreds of years might interrupt ones beauty sleep. I find the birds singing from 4:30 in the morning far more disruptive to sleep than planes going over, i do however have no intention of complaining to the council, and perhaps encouraging a cull.
