  1. yep, mummy thought the little shopkeeper man would just take care of her kids junk until they were good and ready to have the decency to pop by and demand it back. Obviously had other far more pressing matters at hand rather than retrieving the scooter, yet is stunned and upset when it is isn't there a day later, then blackens the shops name online in the hope of doing it harm. Nice one!
  2. Diddums. Giving it half an hour was more than reasonable, before putting it out the front. Its a shop, not a dumping ground. Maybe one will take better care of ones possessions in future, and hopefully next time they loose something wont blame and then consequently try to slander a local shopkeepers reputation. No doubt the OP is the type that lets their little darlings run amok around pubs too, and can probably easily afford another scooter anyway.

Ordered curry sauce with my chips and his scruffy mate was summoned to make the curry sauce which he done by boiling a kettle and pouring it over some kind of powder and stirring it for a while. battered sausage was inedible. Shame, because they were friendly people.

Yes, the police are often mob handed in Lordship Lane, but only in Johnnies for a fry up. One Saturday, normal people could barely get a seat due to the amount of police in there, must have been about 15 of them!
  5. Did you not let down the tyres? Thats what the council advises you to do when one of their employees dares to take a lunch break on OUR time.
  6. I tend to chuck them in the normal refuse bin, they are probably better going to landfill.
  7. If you are going to be outraged by graffiti in a large urban global city such as London, then you are going to be shocked and annoyed a lot in life. I dont think some spray paint on the floor of a park is going to do anyone any harm at all. Even if it is "phallic"!
  8. Hopefully another sourdough pizza restaurant. With no draft beer.
  9. There are no Southern trains serving East Dulwich this weekend. There is no London Overground from Peckham Rye/Denmark Hill either. Settle in and watch the tennis!
  10. thats right, they would need a bank card to pay for it. Certainly with the Santander bikes, after 30 minutes they are charged ?2 per hour for the hire, so any kids hanging around street corners with one clearly arent too fussed about the charges racking up, because they most likely arent paying for them.
  11. If i were the old bill, id likely stop any teenagers hanging around and in possession of any bike hire scheme bicycles. They are clearly not going for a leisurely cycle with them, or going to/from work, so they have already stolen the bicycle. Then see whats in their grubby little pockets.
  12. nah, all the old men that go into the Castle would start going to the Wetherspoons, as despite the Castle being the most reasonable pub around, it would still be considerably cheaper in a Spoons.
  13. Its not even smoke, its vapour. completely harmless. You will be breathing in more dangerous air near a busy road from car exhausts. So dont be so unbelievably intolerant of it, makes you sound stupid. "vile and invasive" jesus wept...

Also, the myth that spoons buy all their beer just before it is about to go out of date is exactly that- a myth. They buy their beer at very competitive prices, because of their buying power. there is about 800 spoons, breweries etc actually want spoons to stock their beer, so sell them their beer cheaply.

Ha! so they were (intending) to making such a huge enough profit on the meal they can simply knock a fiver off it, since no one was buying it.

I overheard a conversation in Jazz Barbers yesterday of a guy who im pretty sure said he manages this place. He was saying it is going to close imminently as the building is worth ?10 million, and has presumably been sold.
  17. Would love a spoons in East Dulwich. I basically cant afford any of the pubs, apart from the odd few in the EDT, but Antic's prices have really crept up in the last couple of years too. It is never going to happen though! Spoons are closing pubs around inner south London, not opening them. In the space of 3 months alone recently, they closed the Balham one and the Crown and Sceptre in Streatham Hill. Rent rises apparently. Frankly, East Dulwich is too a fancy area for Spoons.
  18. You dont have to go far for quality curry, just next door to Surma, in fact.
  19. I know no one has mentioned dogs here, but it has always bewildered me when people get on their high horse about people setting off fireworks on Guy Fawkes night, saying they shouldn't be doing so because their precious dog doesn't like it. Right, so everyone should stop doing a hundreds of years old tradition just to please you and your dog....

How about the bowl of fries they are charging ?5 for?
  21. fishbiscuits Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > ?24 is steak money. Its by a long stretch the most expensive pub roast i have ever heard, and i thought Youngs were bad with their ?17.00 offerings. In fact, it costs even more than Hawksmoor, a much celebrated steak restaurant renowned for top quality roasts too. On the basis of these prices, i will likely never step foot in the place, and will advise others to do likewise. Anywhere that is clearly ripping off their customers deserves to be boycotted.
  22. Roast beef dinner ?24? 'Fries' ?5? How ridiculous. No doubt pints will be just as pricey.
  23. Hi guys, Is anyone else really fed up with the emergency services speeding down LL with their sirens blazing? It really disrupts me when i am trying to do a nice spot of gardening at this time of year. Say we get a petition together, asking that Police vehicles turn down their siren when passing through our utopian neighbourhood, and we march to the nearest Police station (Peckham?) to hand deliver it and make it clear we will not stand by and have our peace and quiet ruined?

Get yourself down to the EDT mate, theres loads of birds looking for their Prince Charming in there.
  25. yeah, wheres my Moroccan restaurant that in my opinion would be the perfect addition to the high street, for no other reason other than i like Moroccan food.
