  1. I don't know, there's a fairly small one in Edinburgh that I know. Possibly slightly bigger than the LL site but still smaller than average.
  2. This is the Daily Mail (sorry couldn't find another version) shopping basket by which the cost of living is measured. Quite interesting, not a pulse to be seen either (baked beans notwithstanding). basket
  3. a week is easy, try a month. Much more realistic.
  4. If the owners of Somerfield are selling the company in entirety then the LL branch will go. I wouldn't want an M&S food place as they only really cater for the 'ready-meal' market. The produce is over packaged and over priced. Waitrose buy it please.
  5. I don't think ?1.50 is overpriced for a French stick. How long is it?
  6. I think the last sentence is quite telling.
  7. I'd rather have the local boutiques and food emporiums than endless bookies, fast food joints and sports shops a la Wally Rd (where I lived for many years)
  8. That's interesting info Sean. I've never been in WS yet but if I needed to get some basic t-shirts or something like that would rather go there than Primark
  9. Where would tick all your right boxes?

Back safely from Homebase and no, I was driving I only had a couple of little glasses officer. Actually it was fairly painless and the nice people let me replace the energy saving lightbulb I smashed as I was loading the stuff into the car, must be my winsome ways.

just moving on to the left-over red now with my pasta. I can't be that bad if I've actually got left-over wine can I? And I have been up since 7 and I have got to steel myself for that trip to Homebase (excuses excuses).....

well I've never been sure if it was six pm or 12 pm. Now I know, thank you Jah. Seeing as it's Saturday I think I'll finish off that white now and bugger the yardarm (oo er)
  13. What with the constant bandying of the term around this forum - mostly in a pejorative sense - I thought it might be useful for people to have a definition to which to refer before use. Middle class FYI: I myself am about to join the ranks of the middle classes when I get my degree this year and follow that with a professional qualification. So yah boo sucks. spelling edit
  14. although the first page presently has 4 out of 30 threads regarding baby stuff
  15. I do organic and have done as far as possible for about 15 years now, much easier over the last 5 years as it has become more 'fashionable'. It is not for the taste, although often that is a side benefit, but mainly to do with not wanting to eat food - particularly salad stuffs - that are bathed in several different chemicals. There is also, as Nero mentions, the environmental aspect to take into consideration. Anyway this subject has been done to death on here already and each to their own. Personally I am prepared to pay a little more for organic fruit and veg if it is good quality and not been flown in from Kenya.

just tucking into a glass of white now. haven't quite crossed the yardarm (or is that 12 noon?)
  17. I think that's a little unfair, who are you to say what her son might find a treat? If they only had an hour, that's not really long enough for a trip to the park and maybe time alone with mum is treat enough. Cross posted!

ooh yes, I like those. When camping in france we often would finsh the remains of the previous night's bottle of red before packing up. When in Rome (or France)..... Since the beginning of this year I've cut down a lot on the consumption. I was the bigger half of a bottle a night but now tend not to drink during the week or just have a little stubby of pissy lager. I really miss having wine with my evening meal but am unable to restrict myself to one glass. My name is Asset.....
  19. Jocelyn mlteenie the roving forum bike mechanic can sort out road tyres for you. pm him and he'll give you a price.
  20. I used to ride over to that way and always went over Westminster Bridge and along St James Park before hitting Hyde park, not as direct but a bit nicer poss.
  21. What a fantastic name! Mr. Collision!
  22. they also love wool carpets
  23. I've got them, had them for years and they have destroyed many valuable items the little bastards. Very difficult to eradicate. If they are in a wardrobe, take everything out wash it or dry clean it and scrub inside of cupboard thoroughly. I've done that and use mothballs but still have them.
