That's why I've now got a cleaner even though I can't really afford it. I agree with Macro (eek, must be getting old), a bit of dirt is good for the little blighters. Prevalence of allergies poss to do with over sterilisation. Lousiana - there are actual people who will take your cash for coming round and helping you clear out the clutter in your house and mind.

If it was out on a frosty night that will have done it, they like to be cool at night but no frost - it may not be dead though. Keep it in until all fear of frost is gone and see if any new leaves grow. Have all the leaves come off? If so, what state is the stem in?

Nero, I don't know what you do to them! Is it outside? It shouldn't be at this time of year Very little water required over winter, I haven't watered mine for a few months but if leaves are shrivelling and falling off it sounds like you haven't watered it for a year. when the leaves dropped off were they very dry?
