The Vodafone map is misleading because there is practically no Vodafone coverage on Ivanhoe Road

I recently moved house within Southwark and to my joy, according to the cyclehoop bike hangar website there was a space just outside my new house. I currently have a hangar space outside my old house. After nothing happening for two weeks I rang cyclehoop this morning. They tell me they no longer have a contract with Southwark so the availability on their website is not longer up to date. They are waiting to transfer the database to Southwark but nothing has happened yet. Anyone else know what the plan is? All cyclehoop gave me was the [email protected] address. I can't really give up my old hangar (for which there is a long waiting list) until a new one becomes available, so everybody loses.

Sadly cases like this are not unusual. It can take a long time for building defects to emerge by which time those accountable can wriggle out of liability. Building control and planning are a awful compared to other Northern European countries and the scheme that should indemnify the victims is riddled with conflicts of interest. The industry joke is that NHBC stands for Never Have Believed a Claim. We have an asset class - residential property - underwritten by the government and massively undertaxed (again relative to other Northern European countries). This causes a huge misallocation of capital and is almost certainly one of the reasons why UK productivity lags so badly compared to our peers. To add insult to injury the quality of this asset class is terrible. What tax there is, stamp duty, is a distortionary tax on labour mobility.
