The Rosie Project is very entertaining (a rom-com in a book), I thought it was brilliant.

Bombard me with activities for my 10 month old
Crokes replied to GinaG3's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Tuesday morning at the Copleston Centre/the church on Copleston road is still on (9.30am - 11.30am) and Rae (who runs it) is very welcoming. -
Not sure if it's still the case but GDND (search for miss danni on here) does a street dance class on a Tuesday at the Goose Green Centre (next to the church) and it used to be very popular and full of boys.

Intensive swimming - Oct half term
Crokes replied to david_carnell's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Try JAGS - I can't remember what age they take them from but the intensive classes are open to non-members (mine was 5 when she did it, but there were some younger kids there). -

My left one won't open/close independently, it's a tad frustrating).

I know it's not East Dulwich, but if anyone needs Pampers Baby Dry nappies, then Asda on Rye Lane have got a bunch of giga packs scanning at ?6 each (shelf price reads ?12.97, but it looks like they're trying to clear stock). They had sizes 3, 4, and 5 and they are located on the same aisle as the sweets near the front of the store.

Brilliant - thanks everyone for the suggestions (and yes, Norfolkvillas, you found the one I was after, thank you too). -
Recommendations wanted - for a spa day in/not far from London
Crokes replied to Crokes's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thanks, good find but I think it there was another one (maybe I'm wrong though). -
I'm looking for a modern-day 'Sanctuary' (since the one in Covent Garden closed) for myself and some girlfriends to have a pampering day out together. Either in London or short-ish train/car journey away. I've found the Old Street one that has been recommended previously, which looks great, but it would be good to give my friends a choice. There was a similar thread not that long ago, but I can't find it (anyone else find the search function a bit hit and miss on here?!). Any day spa suggestions (or a link to the other thread) would be very gratefully recieved. Thanks!

Yogabeez at Gaia Studio on the corner of Maxted Road and Oglander Road (near Bellenden Road shops). My daughter has been going for over 18 months and really loves it. Small class size and fantastic teacher. www.littlelotusyoga.co.uk

Can you recommend a spill proof travel mug
Crokes replied to Convex's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Assuming its for you (for coffee etc) - try one of these (not cheap but cost effective in the longer term if you've avoiding barista-prepared drinks!): http://www.amazon.co.uk/Thermos-Genuine-Stainless-Leak-Proof-Travel/dp/B00719NIG6/ref=pd_cp_kh_0 I bought the previous version a couple of years ago, it's definitely leak-proof even in the bottom of bags/the buggy. -
Yes, buy a new hose. Should be food grade one (so not from the garden centre!).

Lucy Sparkles does musicianship classes for 4 year olds. Highly recommended as helps with singing and prep for learning an instrument. See her posts on here for more info.

(Boring thread alert) - affixing kids artwork to walls
Crokes replied to pilsbury's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Picture pockets: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Picture-Pockets-A4-Hanging-Gallery/dp/B006GEZ0YU (obviously not good for huge masterpieces nor storing the volume of stuff produced but for me it's a start!) -
Irritant Dermatitis & Breastfeeding
Crokes replied to Knomester's topic in The Family Room Discussion
That sounds terrible. Sorry to hear you're going through this. Have you heard about silver nipple cups to help with the healing? Recommended by a few friends and worth googling in relation to irritant dermatitis. Good healing and good luck! -
We wanted one that was battery powered and liked the simplicity of this one: http://www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/sp+kidsleep-globetrotter-travel-alarm-clock-in-sleep-training-and-night-lights+b6279 The sheep is either asleep or awake, no noise and not an overly-bright light. You set the time for the sheep to 'wake up'. Have used it from 18 months old - the novelty of being woken by sheep impressions from our youngest was very entertaining once he got the hang of it. Good luck!

Try these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003SEOV64/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They fit over their shoes and are great when they are still in smaller sized shoes and/or flexible soles.

Booster seat for mealtimes for a 3 year old?
Crokes replied to SebsC's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We've used a Prince Lionheart booster -not cheap but very sturdy, no need for straps and easy to wipe clean (my 5 year old still uses one). You can get them on ebay sometimes too. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Prince-Lionheart-Soft-Booster-Orange/dp/B001EBJ9D8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1400609561&sr=8-1&keywords=prince+lionheart+booster -
Tongue Tie (again) - Feedback on Katie Fisher please
Crokes replied to Knomester's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We had the procedure done at our own home. We had no problems at all with it, very quick and simple. Katie is professional and knows her stuff. She used sterile equipment and scrubbed her hands accordingly first. She requests that someone holds the baby (she also recommended that the baby is swaddled). Hy husband held our little one and it was over very quickly and straight on the boob (apparently breastmilk helps to relieve the pain). Good luck and feel better soon.
