  1. Forest Hill Road at the junction with Wood Vale is closed for what looks like resurfacing. North and southbound traffic on FHR is being diverted onto the 63 bus lane.

I typed that message up very fast just before work this morning. Thought I was providing helpful infromation to anyone in the area who, like me, clicked on this thread because they enjoy playing badminton.
  3. I am not part of Dulwich Park Runners Club but am doing a course with them. We happen to be running Belair Park tomorrow so I will keep my eyes peeled. I could also drop them an email about it in additon to yours SebsC. I hope you find him soon.
  4. I find people who walk and carry folded up golf umbrellas horizontally and in a crowded place, incredibly inconsiderate.
  5. Southwark, Bermondsey & Canada Water? I always forget that the SE has tube stations too.
  6. The cars have been 'relocated' to Scutari Road.
  7. Wasn't sure what I was looking at at first but that's because my screen is very small. Yes, great shot. There is also another one from some years ago which I like. Was a shot of most of the earth showing the lights from the cities at nighttime.
  8. northbound buses through rye lane were being diverted to the one way system 20 mins ago.
  9. 363s seem to be going though ED okay. A few 63s stuck in bus lane by Wood Vale around 6:30am so not sure if they are currently sending them up Forest Hill Rd.
  10. 2 weeks ago. 6pm - 7pm no water, 2 days in a row. Water spluttering out of the tap this week as well but only briefly.
  11. KalamityKel Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > they also, like the 176s, used 2 b green I was about to say the same thing. Same for the 343 which used to be called P3. I'm sure the 78s were also double decker when they were green.
  12. Classic scene from a classic film: the boys sitting around the campfire trying to decide what animal Goofy is (if Pluto is a dog and is Mickey's pet then Goofy can't also be a dog, or can he?).
  13. Santerme Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Charlton Heston finding the Statue of Liberty in > Planet of the Apes I concur with this pick. I did not guess the twist at all and my jaw dropped when it was revealed. Funny thing is, I watched it as a child but didn't remember anything about it when I saw it again many years later. Also some other favourites: The cemetary scene from start to finish in The Good, The Bad and the Ugly. A head sprouting legs in John Carpenter's The Thing. The ending scene of Invasion of the Body Snatchers with Donald Sutherland.
  14. The Science Museum if you are visiting as an adult. Ruined a lovely memory I had of going there at the age of 11. Covent Garden during Christmas time - I used to work round there and you couldn't move for people just standing outside the station.
  15. During the recent traffic works at that junction I spotted an emptied of it's passengers 63 do a 3 point turn just before the the traffic island opposite the cemetary entrance and rattle immediately back to Peckham. I was both impressed by the skillfully executed manoevre and the sheer audacity of it. I could almost feel the driver of the 63 drawing up behind do a double take.

Yep, I can confirm this is the case now and it also still says Honor Oak on the front of the bus. I noticed other people who got off also checked the front of the bus as they walked by too.

I am just wondering if it is always like this as nearly every day this week there has been delays. Ruffers, I got to the platform at around 08:02 on Wednesday, I think, and the next train was due at 08:18. I am taking the train from Peckham Rye so it is very packed when it arrives. With the amount of time spent waiting and the travel cost being more than double the bus is it worth chancing the traffic to take the bus instead?
