It’s low cost, temporary and uses upcycled wood while the permanent design is being developed. Seating is needed. It seems there are people in the village who simply like to complain. Too cheap = complain. Too expensive = complain.

Saw lots of children having fun, enjoying the wooden marble run that’s underneath the notice board there today. The cafe owner said how much she loves it, and the cheese shop are happy that something positive is being done with the space.

Given the new seating doesn’t feature in either of the permanent designs I think we can assume it’s temporary.

Yes it is off-topic, but interested to know exactly what is worrying about a council tackling dangerous speeding?? I would love Southwark to do the same. The roads aren’t safe with drivers regularly ignoring and greatly exceeding the 20mph limit.

Which school? Might be worth making them aware.

Saw this on Twitter, the ?Ground Zero? reference is horribly distasteful and wholly inappropriate. Deeply worrying coming from a Conservative candidate who wants to represent the Dulwich Village community.

Suspect they are standing for Lib Dems as paper candidates as they?re not actively campaigning here. Can?t imagine that being helpful for the area if they were to get elected.

Traffic is down 12% and cycling up 61% - the schemes aren?t perfect but those are positive results.

This is veering massively off-topic, but just to clarify - there isn?t a ?recommended stage?. There is a list of applications, some basic checks will have been done I assume but the real rigour in the process is before the applicant receives the cheque - there are lots of additional forms to fill in, documents to provide etc before the funds are released. Slarti you mustn't be familiar with the process for these grants. The lists that are published online are the long list of all applications. The meeting is the point at which the councillors announce the ones that have been successful, and for how much (not always the full amount).

One Dulwich update - ?The QC?s opinion is that the Council did not act unlawfully when it made the permanent traffic orders on 10 February 2022, so we have no grounds for a case.? ?28k well spent?

There?s a lot going on in this space @Wasely, cargo bikes are everywhere delivering where once cars or vans did. The potential to reduce polluting vehicle journeys is huge.
