Positive recommendation for movers: VP Removals
Sunlover00 replied to PeckhamPenny's topic in Request a Tradesperson
We just moved and contacted VP removals based on forum recommendations- we weren?t disappointed, the guys were great. Keep us informed on their arrival, turned up on time, efficient and speedy. Very reasonable prices too. We will be using them when we move back into our house after the renovations -
Sorry, me again. So we have had to instruct seperate surveyors and now there is a dispute which may go to a third surveyor to resolve. Whose liable to pay for their costs in the event they rule in our (the building owners favour)? Our surveyor suggested that it?s usually the party who caused the dispute to pick up the costs ie whoever the third surveyor rules against. However, the other surveyor we are disputing with seems to honk it?s always the Building Owners responsibility! So I am unsure which party is correct as I don?t want to end up paying for a third surveyor! Our surveyor is confident it will be ruled in our favour . Can anyone whose been in this situation share their experience? Thanks

Any art and craft classes for kids on weekends?
Sunlover00 replied to mshah's topic in The Family Room Discussion
The arts factory runs every sat during term time - my daughter goes there and loves it. -
Hi, not sure where best to post this but looking for general advice on party walls. We are undertaking an extension and our neighbour would like to appoint a surveyor. To keep costs down , we would like to use the same one but to date our neighbour has proven to be quite difficult so really unsure whether we would be leaving ourselves open to anymore costs and unreasonable demands if we used the one she nominated - if we use the same one can the surveyor be completely neutral, or would they act in their best interests? Just not sure if it?s work saving the ?1k for appointing our own independent surveyor then end up costing more because we shared the same one Also if anyone has any recommendations for good communicative surveyors that they have used would love to have details. Thanks

Hi Can anyone recommend a local architect to help with tricky planning applications? Thanks Irene

We did our wills with Nick after finding his details here and agreed that he would tweak our wills after marriage. I've not been able to reach him despite messaging here too.

Just tried the duck egg thai. Wow!! Really yummy food and IMO better than Thai corner cafe. Worth a try

Number 2 and anxiety in 3yr old boy
Sunlover00 replied to midivydale's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Also recommend the book everybody poos. It really helped my daughter realise it's normal. Also I tried putting an egg timer on that she had to sit on loo for and we would play games to pass the time whilst she was on the loo. -
Hi I'm putting together a nanny contract and would like to include the use of the family car but I have no idea on what is standard/normal for the employer to pay for e.g. excess charges for any ins claim, penalty charges, damage etc. Does anyone have an agreement already in place with a nanny which you're able to share with me? Pls PM me if easier. thanks in advance

It's already been stated if i recall correctly that charter will consult re admissions at a later date so I presume there will be a proper forum to raise concerns etc. What else would you like see happen now barely a week since the decision?

Artifical lawn with a dog and children!? Would you?
Sunlover00 replied to Sarie's topic in The Family Room Discussion
There's quite a few installation videos available on you tube also that grono website offers an installation video too. The important thing is to level the ground and lay a membrane to prevent weeds from growing through then layer of sand then nail the artificial grass down. By no means is our lawn laid perfectly but i think it looks fine and looks more realistic with the odd bump in it (that's what I told myself at the time anyway!) -

Sunlover00 replied to Sarie's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Yes - we put down eazylawn for the same reason - dog was trashing real lawn and dragging in mud during winter. It's pricey but after 3 years still looks new. We laid it ourselves which was pretty easy -
Admin isn't greatest but i cant fault the care and attention my daughter gets. She's been attending the nursery for 2 years and loves it.

Saturday swimming lessons - camberwell leisure centre
Sunlover00 replied to Sunlover00's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thx both - I've tried peckham pulse but all their sat lessons are booked up and they don't offer anything on a Sunday unfortunately. Beckenham is probably a bit too far for us. -
Hi Ive been looking for weekend swimming lessons for my 3.5 year old daughter and although Camberwell leisure centre offer them on Sat in their training pool they don't have the numbers required to run the 1pm class. Thought I'd post this on here should there be any other interested folk to bump up the numbers. The training pool is heated and is shallow enough for little ones to stand in.
