  1. The 12 is a bendy-bus 24/7 (it stops outside my house), not too noisy, just tends to rattle the house slighty when they rumble past in the middle of the night.
  2. Empty? Typical, tried yesterday midday, was insane in the car park, left, returned today at 10:30 and got stuck in a traffic jam in the car park and gave up and went to Forest Hill which was much calmer.

  5. Not to mention in countries where snowfalls are common people prepare and know how to drive in the conditions, sitting there spinning your wheels and revving the life out of your engine in first gear on non-winter tires isn't something you see in those countries. It's not all on the councils. Just watching the news now and everyone is moaning 'why isn't my footpath clear', sure in priority areas they should be, but in some countries it's actually your responsibility to clear the footpath outside your house, I don't think any place has magically cleared roads and footpaths 24/7 in winter. Do people seriously expect the council to clear every single footpath overnight?

  8. On a serious note I will be interested in hearing what Boris has to say over all this after dropping the ball when it snowed back in February.

BBC weather = shite It was a pretty intense snow fall too, was on my way home when people started phoning into the radio station saying it was snowing in Sutton, Ealing, etc, I was driving along East Dulwich rd in the rain thinking ?h it won't settle even if it makes it to us', got to Sainsburys and it started snowing, ducked in for something for dinner, 10 mins later I was crawling up Lordship Lane wondering if I was even going to make it up the hill. By the time I go to Barry Rd I decided to park up down the road from home and walk it, probably 20mins since it started and it was pure chaos out there, madness I tells ya, and then it all stopped not long after that.

By reducing the Blackwall tunnel to one lane apparently (going by the news tonight), brilliant idea that one.....
  12. Hmm will have to set that one to record on my Sky box. Yes the repeats of V do look very dated now, I loved it when it first came on TV tho. Apparently they played the first 4 episodes of the new version of V in the states but the rest isn't on for a few months. I have seen teaser ads on one of the UK channels (can't remember which one) for next year.

  14. Is it a new series or a movie? I see they have remade the TV series 'V' which I remember watching when I was younger, am interested to see the new version, seems to have generally positive reviews.

  17. Our old cat used to sit too close to the fire sometimes in it's later years, we'd have to nudge it when it started smoking, poor old thing never looked happy cleaning it's singed fur.
  18. What about the squirrels, their nuts will be frozen poor things.
  19. Barry Rd is the same, been pretty much an ice rink since the snow.
  20. Think you might have to find a pub to wait it out in, the shame of it all....
  21. ....and the roads, Barry Rd is pretty much at a standstill, lots of people spinning their wheels in first gear, damm fools. Seems to have stopped but is very dodgy out there, just managed to make it up the road during the worst of it. also this from Station manager Barry re London Bridge here
