  4. As these are people who are willing to engage strangers in conversation on the bus I propose we declare January Pull a Preacher month. I have seen a few who are passably attractive. It will lighten up an otherwise dreary month. You could even start a thread with a points system on a sliding scale from mildly inappropriate banter to full blown abandonment of organised religion in favour of drug fuelled hedonism. It?s a less ridiculous idea than having a whole host of religions justified solely by a belief that a book, cobbled together over the millennia from writings produced from different frames of reference and for different purposes and different people, somehow speaks with one moral voice. I?m going to be busy in January by the way. Let me know how you guys get on.
  5. These people are pretty harmless though. To put it in perspective, I?ve seen some truly horrendous things done in Africa because of superstition or ?traditional religion?. This type of thing has at least been distilled out of Christianity over the millennia. The worst they?re going to do is tell you that you are going to hell, not actually send you there at the behest of some ju-ju peddler.
  6. Mark could you please explain this to the government and the main opposition. They are both really starting to piss me off.

  8. I think most of Christendom realised a long time that the bible in general is a bit nuts and can?t be taken literally. Although the official party line is that it is. But it isn?t really only sometimes when being used to justify whatever activity or belief is currently en vogue for that particular denomination.
  9. Don?t do it. Indignation is seldom constructive and far better channelled into puerile attempts of humour.
  10. As a to-the-letter follower of the Book of Revelations I say you can take your comments to umbrage sir. As for annoying callers, well I find that not washing the blood off before opening the door usually gets rid of them.
  11. This is so unfair!
  12. 14.5x(5.9742 ? 10to the power of 24)kg and -224 ?C with an atmosphere consisting mostly of Hydrogen with traces of Helium and Methane.
  13. 3 in 1 oil, that?s the stuff you need for a jammed post box.
  14. What do you have against jam? Does anyone know what time the post is coming today?
  15. Whenever I write the date I'm going to finish it with, 09.
  16. I grew some strawberries this summer. Didn?t get enough to make jam though. There were barely enough to feed the local birds. I like raspberry jam. How does one go about growing raspberries?
  17. Doesn?t say much for old Jo?s omnipotence if he could only make the gaff big enough for 0.0001352666854534551928832821803987%* of the people who have ever been born. * Figure based on the best guesstimate I could find on t?internet and assuming the assumption of these lucky folk into heaven took place in 2002 which was the year of Rapture?s last world tour.
  18. Joints for Jesus. Hmmm?. It may actually catch on.
  19. Eh? I didn't even realise they were edible. http://www.sanbornscandies.com/candy/casinocoins.jpg
  20. They?re casing the joint for Jesus.
  21. Here?s some deeply intellectual commentary on the subject from the mainstream media. http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/news/health/life-is-not-some-piece-of-shit-film%2c-women-told-200812171465/
  22. I remember when it was all still fields around here.
  23. Are you suggesting that M Man had some kind of life changing experience on the road to Damascus? How very uncharacteristically biblical of you.
  24. I think it is a constantly changing and evolving entity. It has in the past sometimes been like a version of Newsnight but written by Salvador Dali and presented by Frankie Boyle. At the moment admittedly it more closely resembles The One Show. We shall but see where to next.
  25. Just a point of note here. The government intentionally devalues public services over a period of time so that they have an excuse to privatise them. Their most recent success is Royal Mail. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7785177.stm
