Any chance that he will now be prevented from further meddling with our car parking?

Are you sure? A lot of dog owners seem to be. They can't even remember to pick up their own dogs s**te off the floor.

A well drafted FOI request could answer some of these questions.

Anyone using any of this stuff? It all looks quite expensive. -
I think it's a wonderful way to write up a very dull story about a bunch of non entities tbf.

Yes, the cabinet leader has to be an elected councillor. Losing your council seat means losing the leadership (but Southwark often doles out a massive loss of office payment so it's not all bad news).

Time to ban dog ownership altogether. It's a cruel hobby that is very bad for the environment.

Bellenden Rd & North Cross Rd ‘High Streets for People’
CPR Dave replied to bels123's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
You might be right. I have a memory of street performers on a warm sunny day in Lordship Lane, but maybe it was the Xmas Cracker and it was just one of those stunning Decmber days where the sun is very bright in blue skies and 15*C feels warm for Winter -
I think 200k is a lot less than they are going to spend replacing the rotten wooden play equipment in goose green park. It seems a small sum of money in this context. Very kind of Earl to offer to pay for it. Thank you Earl!

If they're not supposed to be riding there they should take responsibility for the consequences when it goes wrong. -

Sounds good. We used to have the ED Christmas Cracker which was similar and a great community event. Was there once a similar event in summer too? I walked all the way through the market on Saturday and had no idea there had been an event there until I saw this thread four days later. -
If you can use it exclusively for yourself for 12 years it might become yours by default under squatters rights? Maybe whack a bench on it and plant some flowers and then a little hedge around the perimeter to keep people out? I'm not sure if any of this is legal but it might be fun finding out?

That post from "Dulwich Roads is also on Bluesky" is fucking dim. To me it reads like the person who wrote it has been in a car crash themselves and doesn't understand the meaning of words very well any more.

It's just grass. Wheat is also grass.

Its usually 1 to 2 %. Say it's 2% and a house sells for £1million, the agency takes £20,000. The induvial selling the house might be eligible for £2,000 commission from that. If the gazunderer bring s the price down to £950,000, the agency takes £19,000 and the individual gets £1,900 commission. In those circumstances they don't care if you lose £50,000. They are only out of pocket by £100.

Poundland East Dulwich soon to be replaced by Tesco Express
CPR Dave replied to satsuma's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
It's quite normal with chain shops that have a large real estate portfolio who are in the proverbial. When the writing is on the wall they know exactly how much they can afford to pay to keep a site open and the landlord then has a choice: accept the lower rent or find a new tenant. Finding a new tenant sometimes means not getting any rent from an insolvent company, paying to clear their stuff out and giving the new tenant a rent free period to fit out their shop and establish themselves. It can be expensive for the landlord to refuse a rent reduction. I think this landlord has probably landed on their feet here though, getting Tesco interested. -
DulvilleRes, are you a Southwark councillor by any chance?

West Dulwich LTN Action Group - needs your support
CPR Dave replied to Rashmipat's topic in Roads & Transport
Agreed: don't vote for them and don't vote for their stupid LTN and CPZ cash cows. The Labour Party has proven itself to be incredibly economic with honesty and trustworthiness. They seem to be slippery snakes from top to bottom. Can't trust any of them. Worse even than Boris Johnson and he was allergic to the truth. -
Couldn't stop laughing at this from Mrs double barreled swift fancier: "Loads of people have told me that they will never vote Labour again because of how the government have acted on swift bricks.”
