I don't think it's right for the government to force people to buy a smart phone so that they can go to work. I also don't trust the government to put an app on people's phones without being tempted to steal private information by listening through the microphone, looking through your photos, looking through your location data etc. all of which permissions will no doubt be needed to to be given to the app so that it (and therefore you) can work. On the politics, I think the hectoring, condescending delivery of the message was appalling. " This government will make digital ID mandatory for the right to work... Let me spell that out. You will not be able to work in the United Kingdom if you do not have digital ID. It's a simple as that." He seems to have forgotten that he is Prime Minister and not the Reich Chancellor or the Generalisimus. He serves us. He doesn't lecture us like a dictator forcing compliance with intrusive governance for which he has no democratic mandate whatsoever. The right to work in this country is a birth right. No Prime Minister has the power to stop people working for refusing to own a smart phone or to download a Dictator's app.

I've no idea. You seem a lot closer to he issue though and I think if you mentioned it to the businesses concerned that they would very likely want it resolved before it went any further?

If you are aware of rats being present, you might let the restaurants know too.

The fact everyone has had a CCTV camera in their pockets for the last 15+ years has done a huge amount to prevent and mitigate random drunken violence. Thugs can't get away with what they used to anymore.

Do you mean that there are only very few trades people and that all of their thousands of happy customers post glowing reviews but most of them have only ever posted once to recommend said trade person on the trade person's own thread? If so, I agree it's mysterious.

I'd try the Dulwich Village or "North Dulwich Triangle" forums for more local knowledge but I don't think those areas compare to Abeville Road at all. It will be quite a different lifestyle.

What about the places they go to after 11 as it is? I think a lot of the reticence will stem from the fact that someone turning 18 now will ha e loads of school mates who are still only 17 and the liability for serving underage people is huge, plus the loss of profit selling mostly only soft drinks makes 18th birthdays a hard sell in pubs / clubs.

Does anyone have the councillors email addresses please? I will email them this afternoon asking if the new CPZ has been agreed for Melbourne Grove, when that decision was taken and where the consultation documents and other papers can be found. I will then post any replies I get on this thread.

This is a huge part of the problem. Starmer is only interested in himself, not in what is best for our country. There's a litany of stuff he's done for spiteful jealous personal reasons which has damaged the nation enormously. Burnham would be a much better leader than of the other dross left behind when Starmer goes. To inflict a worse leader (and PM) upon us for his own selfish reasons would add to the problems and be entirely in keeping with his woeful premiership so far.

The curbs, that stop cars driving over the pavement, have also been removed on that junction. The whole junction is very badly designed.

It would be fine if they stayed in lane and obeyed the highway code. As it is, there are far too many putting themselves in danger breaking the law, which is unbelievably selfish.

Lower road is awful. Cyclists in the cycling lane ignoring traffic lights cutting across both lanes of motor vehicles. Cyclists not in the cycling lane, not queuing with the traffic for traffic lights, and so being forced to overtake stationary cars in the now too narrow lanes by cycling on the wrong side of the road, into oncoming traffic. It's a very poorly designed scheme that clearly took zero account of the way cyclists actually behave.

I've ridden them before. Took one to Dulwich Village once and couldn't park it. The designated parking bay on Pickwick Road was completely full and I couldn't end the ride. So I had to go back up to Herne Hill. would not recommend lime biking to Dulwich Village.

I'm guessing "ASB" excludes cyclists jumping red lights.

They are being taxed into oblivion. a lot of them, previously fully subscribed (we'll call you, don't call us) are no advertising desperately for new pupils, even paying for those bulk junk mail drops.

This thread should be updated with a new title. "Is Keith Starmer Toast?" I would say yes. This is as bad as when Boris Johnson ignored Chris Pincher's behaviour. And Starmer piled in very heavily on Johnson for that. If he doesn't resign himself now he is an enormous hypocrite and this will be very damaging indeed.

I've only ever had this problem in dulwich village. It was the same for Forest too.

There are a few parking bays where you can leave Lime and Forest bikes (one at the velodrome although it's well hidden) but most of Dulwich Village is geo fenced to avoid upsetting the isolationist (but pro cycling, lol) residents.

It's RNBI accommodation apparently.

Some how our antisocial Nimby neighbours in Dulwich village have made themselves a Lime free zone. You can't end your ride there at all.
